First you want to learn your tic tacs and carving turns. Here is a link to a tic tac tutorial - • Learn How to Turn on a...
Then you want to learn how to do fakies on ramps. Which is riding up regular and then riding down backwards, which is called switch. Also, you want to get your kick turns down so when you roll down the ramp you can kick turn on a quaterpipe if it's the next obstacle at the skatepark.
Furthermore, you want to make sure you have confidence and climb to the top of the smallest ramp and go to the backside of the top of the ramp. Then put the board in the middle of your two legs and put your non pushing foot on the board and get into your pushing stance. Do one good push and get into your riding stance (wide stance)! Then drop front shoulder and bend your knees and commit to going down the ramp. Lean forward as both sets of wheels start going down the transition and bend knees and absorb the flat ground and get ready to go up the next ramp or turn on the quaterpipe.
After mastering rolling down beginner size ramps on a skateboard, work your way up to the bigger ramps once you are comfortable and have confidence to increase your rolling down ramps skills. To conclude, rolling down ramps is the foundation in learning how to skate transition. Happy Skateboarding!

Since I live on a steep plateau, the first thing I had to learn was how to roll slopes, and now it's second nature after about a week of skating. I'm gonna try to drop in on slopes soon! And this video was quite informative, cool stuff!

As a girl skater I appreciate this video soon much. Ive been struggling with stance on our ramps that have a steep incline. Going to try tonight with this more bent stance and see if it helps.

No problem! I am glad the video helped. And as long as you have confidence and keep your weight forward over you shoulder with a nice wide stance and a good knee bend you totally got it.🛹 I hope you conquer those ramps tonight.🤙 And Thank YOU Marrissa for the comment🙏 Let me know if you have any questionns about skateboarding.

thank you so much! i am going to go to my local skate park today and try to roll down a ramp for the first time also one quick question, are bigger wheels better or worse or the same for going down ramps?
@SkateTutorsLLC
@SkateTutorsLLC 2 года назад
Absolutely! That's so aweomse to hear Metalic Cuber! The bigger the wheel the more surface area you have for grip. I think big wheels will be fine. Wheel size is a preference. A lot of poeple like smaller wheels for street skateboarding and park skating. But once you start gettting into skating in bowls people tend to like bigger wheels because they work better for vert. I personally like bigger wheels around 58 mm but I do ride a pair of 54 mm when I do more street. But thanks for watching! And have fun today!🙏🛹🤙

@SkateTutorsLLC

The best way to stop on a skateboard is just hoping off the board and running. You want to run with the momentum of the skateboard. Also you want to have your riding down before you try to roll in. Like having your pushing and riding stance down. Also having your tic tacs and carving turns will really help you master rolling down ramps. Here is a video that helps with learning how to carve on a skateboard ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zGngg_HP4gw.html

I’ve never ever rolled a ramp, and when i did i fell down and oh my god it hurt! But, whit this tutorial it might help!👍
@SkateTutorsLLC
@SkateTutorsLLC 8 месяцев назад
Thanks 🙏for the comment TacoLover20718. That stinks about falling but rolling down ramps is all about commiting your weight forward. Also make sure you know how to ride and turn on your skateboard and you have your fakies down. Which is going up a ramp and going back down backwards the way you came switch riding down the ramp. That really helps you learn the transition of the flat bank you're skateboarding on. But good luck and let me know how it goes or if you have any skateboarding quetions ! 🛹 🤙

Thanks for commenting! 🤛🙏🛹Sorry to hear that munchkineater4226. But you always want to make sure you got your pushing and riding down on a skateboard! And you know how to do the run out and bail off your skateboard safety. Also make sure you got your fakies down ! Which is going up a flat bank and going back down backwards. Here’s a more in-depth video on how to roll down ramps and how to bail out of different situations ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-fUI3bbQQdGU.htmlsi=NPgpTCsaTBiCUM2U

@@SkateTutorsLLC i appreciate your tips i'm going to practice kore of that. and maybe if im ready to roll on that again i'll make sure i got the fundamentals hehe. Im also struggling to pump on mini ramp.
@SkateTutorsLLC
@SkateTutorsLLC 10 месяцев назад
No problem@@munchkineater4226 !! Glad you want to keep skateboarding. And I know you want to jump right inot the down ramps but sometimes you got to take a step back and dial the foundamentals into your skateboarding and then come back to the down ramps. And for pumping if you are regular and you go up the halfpipe to do your first fakie. You lift your body up a little as you go up and then when you go back down you compress your knees and bring your body back closer to the board. The key is timing so if you go up regular your front foot is your left foot so when you start going back down after you reach the top you want to push on the ball of your left foot and compress your knees and body to absorb the ramp going back the way you came. Once you reach the top of your fakie you will stop for a second completely change weight the way you came and push down and look back the way you came. It is like when you learn how to push on a swing set. Sometimes it takes a little bit more practice to get the feel and timing of the pumping but once you get it a light bolb will go on in your head. 💡🛹. And then you also have to get good at doing the switch fakie because it is a backwards fakie from your normal way of riding and that takes some time to get over that awkward feeling of learning the switch fakie. Also you can give. yourself a little push inbetween your normal and switch fakie to give yourself more momentum in keeping your speed consistent. BUt good luck and Happy skateboarding 🤙Here's a video about pumping - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-nLhInAJnQh4.htmlsi=R771w6zcWsYVwhm5

was i stupid to attempt that bigger ramp with minimal skating experience? i sprained my back foot when i fell back n my back leg got caught on the board as i fell sliding down.
@SkateTutorsLLC
@SkateTutorsLLC 3 месяца назад
That’s alright seehongkongsea . I hope your ankle is doing better! I have definitely jacked my ankle up bad a couple times skateboarding! And your just have to let it heel so you can get back to learning how to skateboard. Definitely make sure to let it heal 100 percent if you can but once you’re back you will get rolling down ramps. You just might have to go back and learn some fundamentals of skateboarding like turning and pushing and riding and getting on and off the skateboard safety and definitely practice doing some bailing techniques. This beginner video helps with all of that ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-jzeT9si1U9k.htmlsi=WBFJErF6Y3BFu5zd and after getting those down you should learn fakies which is learning how to go up the ramp on a skateboard and switching your weight all backwards and going backwards the way you came riding switch back down the ramp ! Here is another video that helps you with that ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-nm3sLh4goY0.htmlsi=n7SVBy4Hyv9o-hw9 let me know how it goes and I totally want to hear when you get your roll ins down so definitely let me know when you get it? Build that confidence of the fundamentals and once you master those you will have confidence to roll down flatbanks first try !! Good luck and thanks so much for the comments 🙏🛹😁
