I'm learning my way through this, too. I think you're talking about the bootloader unlock and the custom recovery. I learned my half-baked knowledge by doing those, so since no one who understands it better has offered THEIR knowledge, I thought I'd share :). Ok, I just wrote it up, and it's stupid-long for a youtube comment, so let me know if you're interested before I take up a whole screen with it!
Hi, I'm exactly there, digging myself through the bunch of recommendations that are in most cases neither complete nor very consistent. I would be definitely interested to piggyback on your experience!! Many thanks in advance Andreas
I can't get root because i don't have recovery installed I can't get into recovery mode because i don't have root oh wait Bootloader Locked lol T.T How sad is life...
Guys, i've found a way to root using ADB on PC Just install your phones drivers correctly. Install an "updateSuperSU.zip" for your device. To get into recovery mode on your phone, first use Kingroot (It doesn't matter if isn't working, your should go to ADB permissions on your phone and in the KingRoot app as well). Also you can find this in depeloper options. Connect your device, open the MS-DOS window and let the program do the job. Sorry for my bad grammar...
I subscribed to ur channel for one you speak very clear english and for 2 you dont have crazy loud techno music playing in the back ground like so many of these tutorials do.
Thanks dude! saved my ass. [IMPORTANT TIP!] For anyone who cant boot past cyanogen mod due to installing older supersu on the oneplus one this will fix it!
What's different? I rooted my phone the exact same way months ago via flashing SuperSU from recovery. I even tried it backwards (root then recovery) once and it also worked.
You know how hard it was to root this fucking Galaxy J3? I literally tried everything, and I mean EVERYTHING. Kingroot, Kingoroot, One-Click-Root, Framaroot, Odin flash ROM, you name it... All it took was this BETA file and a custom recovery. Holy shit. I have never seen any other video of yours, but you just got a new subscriber. P.S: THANK YOU!!!!!!!
Can you help me +Trey5S5S? I had the same problem with my J3, but I'm not totally sure about this method. What did you do before his instructions? Thank you so much in advance!!
Sorry I was so late to get back to you on this, I've been away from my computer for a while. Anyway, like I said in my comment, I tried everything from Kingroot, to One-Click-Root, to Framaroot, etc. After that, I downloaded Odin and gave my phone a custom recovery. I then used that custom recovery to flash a SuperSU zip file on my phone, but that ended up bricking it. So then I had to download the firmware for the J3 from some website and then flash it onto my phone with Odin, which basically did what a factory reset would do, and unbricked it. After so many trial and errors, I finally came across this video, did what they said, and it worked.
Shane, I am thinking of switching from iPhone to Android and so I picked up a new Galaxy Amp Prime running 6.0.1 to experiment with, I know it;s a low end phone and will get a S6 or S7 if I like the Android experience. I have been a Jailbreaker for several years now but it looks like those days maybe over and I have used android flagships in the past and love the customization options you get with Android so I want to give it a go once again. Plus the new S7 is off the charts badass so I will probably get one if I permanently switch to Android. I want to root this Galaxy Amp Prime but the Kingo Root app is not working for me I have tried it 3 times with no luck. You being the expert, can you give me any advise on how I could root this phone? Thanks Brother, love your videos, I have been subed for a while now.
Is it worth it? I've never rooted a device and I'm afraid of breaking (bricking???) the phone? What do I have to worry about? Sell me on the idea of rooting my Sprint S6, please.
Nice, but I hardly understood a word except supereasy. A bit slower would be nice. So I don't need to flash a custom rom only a custom recovery before rooting? And when asked to install I decline?
I like how all the tutorials are "This is super easy! this is just downloading this going into recovery and flashing!'...but no one dares to speak of how you got recovery in the first place...needless to say how to get the bootloader unlocked...:/
i downloaded SuperSU 1.67 and put it in the main folder of my device memory, but once in recovery mode, there is no "install" option. there are: Reboot system now, Reboot to bootloader, Apply update from ADB, Apply update from SD card, Wipe, Mount/ system, View recovery logs, Power off. I have a Galaxy A5 6.0.1
Hi, should I download the latest version of SuperSU if I have a very recent Asus Zenfone X008 ? This video dates from 2015, does that change anything? thanks!
Will this work on a kyocera c6745 running lollipop 5.1.1? I have tried just about everything and have posted on xda forums for help on rooting it. Still no luck. Here is the phone specs: Processor: Qualcomm msm8916 android 5.1.1 soft ver 1.010at hardware 1010 Kernel 3.10.49-g510152a release 1 build numberLMY47V Any help is appreciated
Can you tell me your Android Pay still works or not after root? Last time, after I root my Nexus 5, Android Pay doesn't work any more, can not add a card or pay.
I'm already lost between this video and the twrp video in your description. It seems like two different ways to unlock. It'd be nice if you showed exactly what you need to do for this currently posted video from a stock phone. I've done nothing to mine, but you say download this directly onto the phone, oh but already have bootloader unlocked and twrp. I watched the bootloader video, but how do you put on twrp? I'd rather root this way than the third video way
I have my bootloader unlocked and twrp installed. When I got into recovery and try to install the file, I cant find it on my internal drive. It says select file from internal, next to it has (0 MB) as if I have no hdd space. I have 30G free. Any suggestions?
hey I bought a HTC M9 on Kijiji but unfortunately it was a blacklisted phone. I heard rooting my phone will change my imei and make my phone work again. can you please help me what can I do. I'm not a real phone tech.
would you mind talking to us like we do not know what your talking about,,,cause we dont. What custom recovery are you talking about to download and where and how do we get it. Your using terms like we are techs. but were just people trying to understand. wanna bring it down a few notches?
i cant even get in system recovery...i have it installed but when i press it it flashed the little speech under htc logo and then come back to the part where i can reboot phone and other stuff...lil help?
Systemless root issue. I tried it on my galaxy note edge lollipop 5.1.1. And I was rooted but my internet 4g was completely unusable. Even after trying to root force it on. I tried it on the same phone after I updated to marshmallows 6.0.1. And got the same thing. The beta supersu 2.6.1 doesn't work correctly. Fyi please try and help with this issue.
I have a 6.0.1 SAMSUNG-SM-J120A I have downloaded the supersu file. An am able to get to recovery but it's the recovery that came on the phone. Dont know if I need a custom one or how to get one for that matter. Anyways I try to install the supersu file and it wont. Says something along the lines of it can't verify the file or something like that.
I flashed the latest supersu for my droid turbo, but it keeps staying at the bootloader unlock. Restoring back to stock rom and reflashing still puts me in thee boot loop.. plz help
wtf. I followed this tutorial and my device wont boot. It's an lg g2 and it says secure boot error and then freezes. I can still access custom recovery
+DroidModderX ROOT Master I had the same thing and had to restore. Will the stock bootloader in marshmallow boot with root files? I've read that as a suggestion but nothing to confirm
Can i unlock the bootloader of the Moto x PURE edition? i know XDA lists it as moto x pure/play but given that international models aren't the same as US models and that i have my moto x on sprint, i'm terrified of trying to do ANYTHING with it currently.
Im having alot of problems finding out how to specifically root my phone. I currently use a Sprint Lg G4 Ls991 running on android version 6.0. If you have any input please tell me or link me a guide. thanks
Every device is different, this is just basic instructions. Read your phone specific root procedures, you may just brick your phone. AT&T S6 edge is still a version you can't root unless you own your phone outright.
hii there... please guide me .does it work for galaxy S6 edge...?? i wana root from 6.0.1 to 6.0 because many of my features doesn't work on 6.0.1.. please help.. reply fast
Hi how to run root phone lg x power? can not find the core functions is only restore the factory settings, as I uruchmić reboot? 6.0.1 android lg XPower, please reply.
i have an lgl82vl straight talk phone. The phone absolutely cannot be rooted by any method. I'll literally give $100 to anyone who can tell me how to permanently root this phone. If it does get rooted ( which is very hard and only 1/5 attempts) the phone restarts itself within a minute and root is lost. I've tried manually rooting it with adb and is write protected. I've tried king root(pc and Android versions), kingo root, towel root, srsroot, lg one click, universal one click, iroot, and countless others. The only reason I need to root is i have an 128G sd card 99G free but internal is so full can't do anything with it. This phone has no recovery(only factory reset), no fastboot, no download mode.
Hiii my phone is tit u02 and during installing twrp recovery especially in step"fastboot flash recovery" it give message"fails size too large" what is the solving
*my phone got bricked(bootloop) trying to install custom boot animation well... I didn't know it'll be a crisis* I know it isn't related I'm just trying to look for someone who can help me
please help me I have a Samsung galaxy amp2 but I can't root it and I have no computer but when I use kingroo, kingoroot, iroot nothing works please help me
man... how to install custom recovery or unlock the bootloader WITHOUT rooting in android 6.0??? (without PC of course) U want me to root my phone , for which i need things which aren't available without rooting. Is it like, a chicken and egg situation? what should i do first.. root or unlock bootloader and how? :((((((((((((((((
This method doesn't work on the Galaxy S5 G900-F with Cyanogemod 13 Android 6.0.1 using the following: BETA-SuperSU-v2.64-20151220185127.zip BETA-SuperSU-v2.65-20151226141550.zip BETA-SuperSU-v2.66-20160103015024.zip BETA-SuperSU-v2.67-20160121175247.zip
+Metasploitation How do you want to root your phone if you already have Cyanogemod installed you need to have a rooted device to install it in the first place... And also Beta isn't the full thing it is just something to experiment with that doesn't mean it'll actually work.
we have been waiting for since 2015 for a root that really works for samsung galaxy s6 active , do you have any video on that mister droidmodderx. thank you for your help
You are locked out of administration by default with android, hence you have to root it... They turned linux's native security inside out to make a spyware os... On a linux computer there are not permissions, you get cought in my system then get used to bubbuh in the federal penitentiary, but on droid you are giving permissions for the app devs to hack right on in...um er I mean access parts of your system and hardware...
says it's super easy then proceeds to talk in jibberish for the next three seconds telling you about a prerequisite. elaborate those five seconds after :20 "boot loader unlocked with custom recovery installed" yea okay, I'm an old man.
guys this video is fake. just make sure your phone is at 70 percent then enable unknown sources. then developer options, then oem unlocking. download kingroot and then root it. if it doesn't work the first time it will definitely work the second! it's fine if the phone restarts, mine did that and I had a mini panic attack lmao. but then I downloaded root checker and found out my LG phone has root! if it doesn't work tell me and I'll try to help you.
