Hey Tom, I'm trying to root my daughters phone but no luck... She has the HTC druid Incredible with Google, Android version is 2.3.4 not sure were to find what rom or stock rom shes on... I downloaded the SU.zip file and put the zip file on the root of her SD card with nothing else on it but when I power down+Vol down it comes up with the Hboot screen then i go down to select Recovery the phone reboots and shows a Green arrow facing down with 2 arrows going around it, and then it shows a Red triangle with a Red ! and it doesnt do anything from there....

It is because you didn't install clockworkmod recovery on the device. Watch his video on how to get cwm recovery

Check your app drawer again and then try flashing again.

hey man. please help. did every single step correctly and everything works. when install the zip from sd card it was installed successfully. when the phone reboot. i am not seeing root permission????. please help!!!!

I tried doing this with my droid incredible, and I followed your previous two videos on how to unlock the boot loader and I also downloaded the cwm (I would eventually like to install cyanogenmod 11), and i put the su.zip on my external sd, and flashed it like instructed with cwm, then rebooted, but superuser wasn't installed. Any suggestions as to why it didn't work, or what to do next?

install supersu from google play and see if that works

Rootjunky.com Yeah that was my first resort, and it downloaded, but for some reason it isn't gaining root access. For example, when I downloaded busybox installer, there was no prompt for superuser access when I opened the app.

I had to use SuperSu because su kept crashing. To get BusyBox, I had to find a busybox apk as none of the store ones seemed to work. This one did: www.appsapk.com/busybox-app/

I've tried Salgado's suggestion with no luck any other suggestions Su installs but when I download busybox it doesn't give me the grant permission box and then it hangs after I hit install... I nandroided and tried it again and still nothing

I CAN'T GET THE ZIP FILE TO FLASH. Iv got other files to flash to it that didn't work but your file doesn't flash grrrrrrr help pls. Need one to work

good day. i have followed every single instruction up until now and have everything done correctly but i failed when i reach this part. everything went fine as in the video. but when i reboot the su is not there. i download from the playstore and then download busy box. but the problem i am having is that busy box is not installing. it stuck on installing for hours not doing anything. i think that i dont have full root access. as in its partially rooted or semi-rooted. please help me. or i should unroot and root again?

Does the zip have to be on an external sd? or can you place the file in a directory on the internal sd?

Ok so I have followed the las two videos and my bootloader is successfully unlocked clockwork recovery is successfully flashed with version 5.0.2.0 I attempted to install the su.zip multiple times and it's saying success and that It is installed but when I reboot from recovery superuser is not installed or anything My htc droid incredible is running gingerbread 2.3.4 my intentions for the rooting and everything is to install cyanogenmod 11 Rom. And I also can't seem to find how do download that becuase in your other video the link wouldn't download it. Thanks for your help -kyleer lavam

great video! I followed the other two vids on unlocking and clockwork mod. Unfortunately your zip file did not work even when I tried multiple times, so I followed Salgado R, advice and googled superuser and went to the site superuser Chains DD and download the first file ARM devices (2.0 - 4.1) 3.1.3 md5: b3c89f46f014c9df7d23b94d37386b8a Superuser-3.1.3-arm-signed.zip and replaced your zip file with that one. that did the trick. Now if only I could stop this dam boot loop that this phone is in
