I totally agree with the chit chat during the sale. So irritating. I am here to buy not socialize. This was a very informative video. I wish I had seen it before my first auction last night. I had tech problems with my crappy phone so had to switch to everything on the computer which was not good. The lighting was bad and I had to show small jewelry pieces in front of me. Also the reverse picture had the items bobbing around trying to get it on screen. Needless to say, no sales. I won't give up though.
just got accepted! I’m excited but also nervous about trying to promote on my social media 🥴 I’ll do my best though I’d love to be a big whatnot seller I think it’s something that’ll continue to grow. China already has a really big live selling audience and it seems to be a trend that’ll take time to catch on here in the US

I do estate sales in the Mid West. I am a very long haul seller on ebay...and other sites. I reluctant to start on Whatnot because I would be a new seller all over again. I don't want to do the work to have everything sell for less. I enjoyed your video and might try to sell some low budget estate jewelry. 🤔

Whatnot did say in my onboarding that if sellers are abusing (or just doing it wrong) the shipping system, they will contact sellers about it and continued issues could lead to removal from the platform.

question iv been asking everyone to see what works best.. how do you stay organized? for most resellers we have items packaged & inventoried in bins. do you pull them, unpack them and then repack them & put them all back if they dont sell. i dont want piles everywhere w empty poly bags lol
You can offer multiples; they will just separate them out into their own listing. Unless it is a fixed price Buy Now item; you can have multiples in the same listing as those. d
super helpful video!! Is there a way to stream a slideshow of images rather than holding the item on camera? Any tips? I am also a poshmark reseller so i have tons of photos of items i am selling so would rather create a slideshow while talking than rehanging each item

I am thinking it is hard to make a profit on whatnot if your buyers are not resellers. Buyers from online platforms usually love the idea of flexible shopping when they want to and not when the live auction is running.
@@AnnEckhart Yes there is. When I started the application, I believe it was the 2nd or 3rd page we had to gill out. It tha5 they need our bank information incase we broke the rules 3 times, then we would be charged $100. Yes.

Well I got my email back from what not and they refused me even though I gave them everything they needed. They said i need to up my items that I sell on selling platforms even thought I have 850 items on eBay and a ton of great reviews. And they said I need to grow my Social media and followers on what it. I’m sure it’s because I don’t have a RU-vid channel :-( oh well I tried.

I assumed to get approved that sellers had to have very active social media with lots of followers. I thought this because you have to provide all your social media account links during the application. Am I wrong? Can people with no following get approved to sell?
No, you need to prove you have experience reselling by showing inventory and linking to any other platforms you sell on. Plenty of people on there with little to no social media.
