What I do for rehearsal is I plug my laptop into the USB of the Stomp and the quarter inch out goes to my amp. All of the sound comes out unaffected from The Stomp and I can play over it with all of my effects.
Perfect timing! Been meaning to sit down and figure this out, now I don’t have to lol. You may have just taught me what I was doing wrong in Soundboard also, I could not get the fade and cross fade to work...I will give it another shot. The only other thing I noticed is I could not get Soundboard to run in the background, I usually keep my iPad close by during worship with the app for the mixer and the IEM mix running just in case so it would be helpful for it to run in the background if I pull up another app I have open. Doesn’t happen often but it is convenient.
Glad I could help...yeah I forgot to say when recording...but made a note on the screen somewhere in the video that you have to pay to have the app run the background...I didn't realize until I tried it.
Bought all your pads for worship this weekend and super pumped to use them live, they sound awesome! Do you have any pedal recommendations for flipping through pages in an app like Music Stand and ALSO triggering pads in an app like Soundboard Studio Pro all on the same iPad? Have you used the AirTurn analog foot switches? Like the BT500S-4?
I actually have a Digitech Jamman Solo loaded with ambient pads in all the keys... can fade them in and out as needed. I use this all the time when I lead with just an acoustic.
Very nice! Wil definitely be trying some of that, with backing tracks from the iPad (particularly if I can use them with OnSong) .... I've used OnSong for years for lyrics and chordsheets, and only recently I've learned (from @alecbourne / MIDI Mad Scientist) that OnSong can be set to send MIDI either at the the beginning of the song, or at any point during a song (or when you tap on part of an image) .... Alec uses it to change settings/patches/snapshots etc. on the HX Stomp in the middle of a song, so you can have a nice solo acoustic with reverb start, and then add harmonies and other guitar effects when you get to the chorus, and change again for the solo, and then back to contemplative for the ambient bit after the last chorus ... fabulous! And saves having to program it all into the Stomp or the Jet and remembering to hit the footswitches, as OnSong will do all that for you.
I use a digitech jamman solo xt on my board loaded with all 12 keys of ambient sounds. I plug it into my fx return on my HX Stomp, and set the return on the Stomp to AUX. That way I don't have to use a block or anything on the Stomp. It doesn't go through the signal chain with all your effects. I have the digitech fs3x pedal as well, so I can change the key of the pad with my foot. I also send the fx send from my Stomp to my digitech jamman solo xt, so I can use it as a looper. That way I can record a loop in one preset, then change the preset and the loop will keep going. You do have to have a block on any preset that you want to use it as a looper.
Very Cool. I have the Two Notes CABM+, but it has the same functionality for running an aux through it bypassing the amps and cabs sim. I purchased the HWL pads and I'm trying this out today on Echo Holy. Thanks!
Nice! I’ve been wondering if this is possible. Thinking about buying a hx stomp for an all in one acoustic rig vs buying individual pedals for reverb delay tuner etc. This is another bonus to the stomp.
