A lot of useful info in there - but one (hopefully constructive) comment, if I may. You have this video so tightly edited with all pauses removed from the dialog, that it becomes overwhelming to take it in, especially for those who are trying to follow what you're saying AND trying to follow what you're doing on screen too. I lecture to groups of over 500 medical students, lectures packed full of info. If I just did this whole "stream of consciousness" thing like this one, I'd be booted out of a job. You need pauses, breathing space, brain space to digest all that great info. It's all about pacing to allow the best comprehension. I also make teaching videos for both theory and practical aspects of the subject, hence my interest in video editing. Yes, I use Resolve (switched from FCP many years ago). One other point too, just so people are aware - you can also use third party apps to simplify ADR with highly accurate lip-sync. I've used ReVoice Pro for years. Not suggesting that Resolve's ADR doesn't work well - it does - but ReVoice Pro is a whole lot easier in many ways. Just pointing out that there are alternatives. Otherwise, excellent video covering a topic many don't even know about! Thank you :)

I can only hear the beeps when I patch. How do they hear the playback and reference track?

Holy crap, I've been really doing Dialog in my videos wrong!

What a cluster fuck. Recording audio in fairlight it’s just a pain in the ass. When I do automatic dialogue replacement I do it in logic pro. There’s no patching, there’s no crap… You simply mark an in and out and the actor can just say his line over and over and over again until we’re both happy. So simple so easy no patching. It just works. Recording audio in fairlight is such a mess it’s hard to imagine anybody even knows how to do it!
