The interaction term was not significant but the impact of independent variable and moderator variable was significant. How do you interpret this result?
It means that the moderation hypothesis has not supported. However If you have hypothesis for the relationship between IV and DV, only that hypothesis is supported.
How about if in the coefficient table block 2, the Interaction is significant, but the other independent variables are not significant? How do you interpret this? Does the moderating effect work?
If you are using Process Macro for running moderation analysis, then you will have to run one by one for each moderator. But there are certain other techniques i.e., PLS-SEM that allow you to two or even more moderator same time. Good luck
Hi, I am trying to calculate the moderating effect that one independent variable has on the relationship between multiple other independent variables and a dependent variable. Is this possible and how would I do this in SPSS? Thanks,
In SPSS, you will have to run the impact of each IV on DV along wit the moderator one by one. For such complicated models, i would recommend smart PLS.
hi, first thanks for your video it is very helpful. I have a question here. I’m using age as my moderator variables. I will make into two group which are below 35 (first group) and above 35 years old (second group). Is it correct I give the first group as value 1 and the second group as value 2? After I give them the value, do I need to compute mean for this moderating variable before I multiply the moderating variables with my 4 independent variables? Thank you in advance for helping me!
Hi sir. I would like to ask if my moderator variables is age, I put them into two group which are below 35 years old coded as 0 and above 35 years old coded as 1, do I need to mean-centred them before running the regression analysis?
Hello, please could we test the hypothesis positivity through the example of this video ( for example : independent variable has a positive impact on dependent variable through moderating variable )
you did not create mean of mean first yo need to run descriptive statistics to create mean of both independent and moderator variable than deduct from the mean that to create in transform compute variable and create interaction
Hi Bushra, Thank you for your comment and suggestion. Actually, centering is not mandatory before regression analysis. However, centering can be a useful technique to help improve the accuracy of the regression coefficients.
