Elite Series Pro and Guide Darold Gleason explains the boat lanes and buoy system on Toledo Bend Lake. Learn how to safely navigate north and south along both sides of the lake (Texas and Louisiana) and east/west to cross over. He takes off from the SRA launch site at Cypress Bend Park (the most common launch for tournaments). As a reminder, Main boat lanes (usually North/South) are generally about 100′ wide. Secondary boat lanes (usually East/West) are generally 30′ - 40′ wide. According to SRA, La lanes are safely navigable down to the new low lake level of 168 MSL. Caution should be used if the lake falls below that level and always be mindful and on the lookout for floaters.
