@PanTheOrganizer Hey pan, how are you?? Love the car, and ive watched your videos for over 7 years now!!! I was wondering if you can find a big lifted truck with polished forged wheels. For example american force jtx forged or signature forged or fuel forged just a few examples. These wheels cost 10-15k canadian and I don't want to watch others when it comes to cleaning and protecting therfore I was wondering if u can do a full series on how to do a wash and decontamination wash and put a coating and what coating is good for them?? All the videos I've found show how to polish them ect... but taking care of them for maintenance washes are a big issue and coatings on polished wheels are a lot different than stock wheels. I'm buying a set and don't want to screw them up Thanks!!!!

I pre-treat, but then I foam over that. I find that it helps reinvigorate the pre-treat spray and the clinging foam helps dissolve the bugs.

Love the channel Pan! Best way I've ever found, and bonus, it's free: take really hot water, maybe even use a kettle to heat some up (no need to have it boiling though). Don't even need soap, but you can add some if you like. Then take a cloth, soak up the hot water, and lay the cloth on the bug guts for a minute or so. It will make them come right off without scrubbing at all. And no scratching paint! No rinsing even needed if you didn't add soap. Might have to run some clean water over it after maybe, but not usually. Try it, you'll love it! I learned this trick from my sportbike days when bugs would make the front of my yellow bike black :) . Another rider passed it on to me.

I’ve used Griot’s Garage Bug and Smudge remover as well as a product called Bugslide. Griot’s leaves a little film if you use on glass and only wipe down with a microfiber cloth. The Bugslide product doesn’t leave a residue but works well for motorcycles on longer roadtrips to help keep windshields and fairings clean. Thanks for the show today!

It is that time of year again. I did a major bug removal last weekend, and find having a ceramic coating, really makes bug removal a breeze. Without a coating, I think two or three rounds of pre-treatment would have been required. I think many still use those scrubbers, which do work, but damage your finish. Great tips here, as always! 🇨🇦

Just wet the car, spray the purple bottle of Super Clean on the bugs, wait 45 econds, spray with water and wipe off. It doesnt hurt the finish at all if you don't let it dry. So easy and so cheap. Dont make a bigger deal out of a simple task.

Last summer went on long road trip thru upper Rockies. My vehicle was bug covered each day. My wife and friends we met up there were surprised that I sought out a manual car wash each evening to remove most of that days bug damage. Worked for me. Maybe not most techi solution per the professional detailed but most practical and nice to start next day with clean windshield.

I use 3D bug remover spray. It works great but it’s definitely strong. It says it won’t damage any existing waxes or sealants but I find that it does weaken the coating every time I use it. Do you think diluting it will help it not weaken the pre-existing coating?

@PanTheOrganizer
@PanTheOrganizer Месяц назад
I don't go on extended road trips with my car. Less than a day, then back at home. If we go on longer road trips, we use my girlfriend's vehicle. :) But if you have to and want a safe solution, bring a rinseless wash mix, or a good waterless wash like this: bit.ly/4agKKpw Also bring a plush microfiber towel, spray on the surface generously, let it soak, then gently wipe. That should do until you are able to safely wash your car again.

Great question. I left the bugs on my car when I did my trip from San Diego to San Francisco bc I wanted to see how great my cleaning detail foams were. Bad idea. It baked into my brand new car just a little and took forever to get out. Def should’ve brought some waterless or rinseless wash w me which I did w a spray bottle but I used it only on the windows.
@jlucguerrier
@jlucguerrier Месяц назад
Make sure the car is coated first, of course. I went on a week long trip to Ashville, NC and had a ridiculous amount of bugs on my car. I sprayed them down with rinseless and then went to a touchless car wash during the trip. $12 and all the bugs were gone. Did a proper wash when I got home. Did the same experiment as the guy above. My wife drove from VA to NY and back. She's not as into detailing as I am and didn't care that the car was dirty. The bugs sat on her car for about 4 days before she let me wash it. Even with TW Graphene Flex Wax protection, the guts were absolutely baked. It took a lot more work than I expected to get them off. She agreed to let me wash the car as soon as we back from our road trips.

I was so disappointed. I had to throw out my mitts. I won’t make that mistake again and I have since stopped using Rain X.

We rented a bus-like RV and went out west...sooo many bugs. For fun we drew targets on inside windshield and each person had one..we kept score before we hit a gas station to clean. The reasoning was that if it works so good and is safe to use on my hands, then it's safe enough to use on car paint. It works well but to apply it there is a slight abrasion as it must be rubbed onto the paint.

Same issue here. I'm maybe not doing long car trips but rather longish journeys to car meets or shows. I wash car previous evening, then in the morning 2-3 hours on motorway. By the time I arrive, front looks like a graveyard. My process: first ample amounts of bug remover, wipe off with soft microfiber, then waterless wash, wipe off, finally ceramic quick detailer, wipe off. Takes 20 mins or so. When I'm back home, I wash car as soon as possible. I have ceramic coating so that certainly helps in this process. But would be nice to hear if Pan has some tips for improving my process or better alternatives.

@PanTheOrganizer

No. A true coating (in a glass bottle) lasts for years and has tremendous chemical resistance. The bug removers I spoke about in this video are all safe on ceramic coated cars. Most of them are made by brands that produce coatings (Gtechniq, Gyeon, CarPro, P&S, etc). So they are totally safe.

12:48 About the water... Not sure if you've ever covered it, but most tap water has fluoride (hydrofluoric-acid), dissolved calcium, and chlorine in it. Although the concentrations are very low, fluoride is not something you wanna let sit on the paint too long. Undiluted forms of it are used to etch glass and I believe this is part of the reason water spots from tap water sometimes never to go away after washing.

Did you have PPF on your 911 Turbo S? I have one on order, I should have it at the end of September if all goes well and there is no rug pull. Would you recommend PPF?
@PanTheOrganizer
@PanTheOrganizer Месяц назад
I did not (other than the factory PPF on the rear arches). I am just not a fan of the look or feel or PPF. Plus, as I get a brand new car every three years, and do low yearly mileage, scratches and stone chips are of no concern to me. My cars are always pristine when I bring them back to the dealership. But for people who keep their cars for many years, and want the ultimate scratch and rock chip protection, PPF is the only solution. I would still recommend a ceramic coating on top of the PPF, for the best of both worlds.

I have a small professional detail shop in Illinois and we are blessed to be the home of Superior products! They have effective products at great pricing packaged for volume detailers. They have two products that I use on every detail this time of year. 1) Bugs b gone 2) Dark Fury. I use bug cleaner full strength if needed, but it dilutes 1:1 ok. Foam sprayer if possible, if not a quality chemical resistant sprayer works. Spray liberally in shade let dwell but not dry and spray off with pressure washer. Second pass if needed spritz on let dwell snow foam over and blast off. Tris works the vast majority of the time if not add in a bug scrubber and now’s the time to use it with all this lube on the surface.

Pan, one of the least expensive harmless way's I have always removed bug's, bird dropping's and tree spore's from my vehicles is pulling my vehicle in a shaded area or preferably in the garage and placing a wet towel over the area affected and letting it sit for 30 min or longer then wiping the area off w/ a micro fiber or soft terry cloth. I have never had a problem w/ this as it softens everything up, even that hard center point area and wipes up easily w/o scratching. Thx for your videos.

I've used Meguiar's Bug & Tar remover in the past. But is a spray can, and it lasts for two cleaning. So, I think the product is good, but it don't last. So, I'm looking for other options that can be used more than twice. For example, in your cleaning today, you probably have used 3/4 of the can to apply the same surface area that you most likely used 1/4 of the Gtechnic

@PanTheOrganizer
@PanTheOrganizer 22 дня назад
There aren't miracles unfortunately for regular waxes and sealants. You use a bug remover or what ever chemical you need, and once the rest of the wash process is done, you observe the water beading. If it has diminished, you'll have to reapply a layer of wax or sealant. Or as a quicker solution, you can use a spray-on, rinse-off sealant like Gyeon WetCoat or DIY Detail Quick Beads. A few seconds, boom, the car is done.
