I did these steps the turbo sounds amazing with the Prl intake but after driving for a bit I got the check engine light P2261 Turbocharger Supercharger Bypass Valve Mechanical
Check the little vacuum line from the back of the bov that goes to manifold. it has a tendency to pop off under high boost. Gotta use a really strong and wide ziptie
@@Kodawari.FK8 that could be the problem I’ll replace one vacuum line tomorrow that seems like it’s been crushed and bent too much thank you man for the quick response!
Yeah I noticed that too. Once i installed the recirc kit the intake noises went away fully and you just get some slight bov noises if you let of the gas just right lol
@@Kodawari.FK8 I’m on stock just received my bov today waiting on the rest of the parts still to complete this set up hehe but I was just doing more research love the videos man!
This is sick man! You made a lot of people happy. I’m winding what gauges you have there. I’ve been looking to add a boost and oil temp gauge to my hatch but wasn’t really sure where to start. Great video. Cheer!
Thanks for this explanation, it's been the pivotal factor in helping me decide to get the HKS SSQV4 BOV for my FK8 also. I have a similar silicon suction hose so will be following this procedure exactly to run recirc. Does the turbo itself matter? I assumed not but wanted to check: I'll be running a P700.
Awesome video man. Quality content as always. One question for you- is it possible to run the HKS BOV when running aftermarket charge pipes? In particular the mishimoto charger and intercooler set up. Thanks!
I'm not 100% sure. I was on HKS charge pipes. If your piping that connects to the pipe by the throttle body is larger, then I'd assume you would just need to find a step-down coupler to go from the larger pipe to smaller hks pipe
If there's a will, there's a way. You'd just need to follow my guide but also make a port on your charge pipe by the throttle body if the fk8 one doesn't fit.
It looks like they have a kit for the 1.5T, contemplating getting one myself. What I don’t understand is how it works with the factory BPV, are you supposed to install a block off plate or do you just disconnect the vacuum line and use it for this instead?
We've been contemplating about this for a while, then got sold after seeing your fb post on fk8 page. We just ordered 2 of these kits last night, 1 is for my buddy's fk8, and another is for my 2.0 6mt accord.
Great video man! I’ve been contemplating getting the HKS Bov kit for my type r but just wasn’t sure if it would cause issues. So basically you did the same thing instead of purchasing the HKS kit with the aluminum pipe?
I bought the hks bov kit with the pipe but you also need to purchase a separate recirculation kit which changes the bov's fitting to connect a hose to recirculate air back into the intake coupler hose.
