This solution has helped me after months into a moderate / severe flare up. It has helped significantly after trying various medicines. Thank you so much for putting this video online.❤

Thank you. I have extremely dry skin all over to the point that dry flakes come off my face and eyebrows, my scalp is so dry, flaky and itchy that i have to apply oil everyday and can't shampoo, I have keratosis pilaris on my upper arms, i have photosensitivity and heat sensitivity which almost go away during summers and are very severe in winters, and i have thinning hair, my hair strands are comma like, corkscrew like, and have become unpleasantly curly, some of the hairs that come off have a sharp bend in them, my hair is almost impossible to comb, I am also shedding hair from my legs and i believe from the eyebrows. I am a 27 yr old male. And all this is the last thing anyone would want, let alone in their 20s. I have had tests for scurvy, vit c is normal, fat soluble vitamin levels are very good, except i have vitamin a toxicity(900 ng/dl), vitamin b12 deficiency( 167), borderline iron deficient. I may also have omega3 deficiency as i am a vegetarian. I have had a lot of tests done. And i believe whatever i have is due to any or all of the following findings: B12 deficiency, iron deficiency, vitamin A toxicity, omega 3 deficiency. But most of all, now i believe it could be due to filaggrin deficiency, for which sadly there's no test available. I have been reading the literature how it could affect skin barrier function, its association with alopecia and keratosis pilaris, and how l-histidine can help in filaggrin. Thinking of trying l histdine. What do you think of it all? What do you think what MIGHT my problem be? Any ideas, clues?

Hi, I know I am a year late, have you had your thyroid function tested? Some of your symptoms sound like hypothyroidism.

@@khaki.shorts @khaki.shorts Thanks! Yes I did. They are normal. As regards Vitamin A toxicity, within 4-6 months of severe restriction of vitamin A my levels came down to 628 ng/ml. I continued the restriction for another 2-4 months and gradually started everything again, I will get a blood test again. I am a vegetarian, so the only things i could restrict were Milk and Vitamin A fruits and vegetables. My symptoms never went away and still persist, I am guessing they weren't due to vitamin A. I did an Iodine patch test, seems like I am severely deficient in Iodine and all these symptoms could be bc of that. So i will soon start Iodine. So you maybe right on the point with it being a thyroid related issue as we know blood tests are not very reliable to detect thyroid related issues.

amazing video, I believe I have the genetic mutation for the FLG gene, but is there any concern about histamine intolerance or issues I should worry about when supplementing L-histidine?
@Betterbodychemistry
@Betterbodychemistry 3 года назад
I did a quick search of pubmed (the big medical data base) - there is nothing to suggest that the FLG gene impacts histamine intolerance. Histamine intolerance is usually related to gut dysbiosis, so if you have a relatively healthy gut, taking the histidine supplement should not cause any issues.

Thanks for this video, it is very helpful. I just want to know if this works for Ichthyosis Vulgaris as well , Could you please suggest?
@Betterbodychemistry
@Betterbodychemistry 2 года назад
I have no idea. Unfortunately when you have ichthyosis vulgaris, you typically have a loss-of-function mutation in both copies of the filaggrin gene. With no functional copy of the gene, there is a possibility that supplementing with histidine will not help at all. However, there are around 40 different problems with the gene, so it is not cut and dry. If it was me, I would give it a try....... pretty safe to do and not terribly expensive.

It is always advisable to keep you doctor in the loop. I am pretty sure, they will not be aware of the research, maybe print out the journal article and share it with your physician, so that he/she is in the loop. I checked the journal article is available for free on line - follow this link and then hit the download button to access it. www.researchgate.net/publication/344492691_l-Histidine_Supplementation_in_Adults_and_Young_Children_with_Atopic_Dermatitis_Eczema

thanks for the informative video.. truely changing lives.. i hv a ques.. how long it will take for results to show up if start taking 450mg supplement??
@Betterbodychemistry
@Betterbodychemistry 3 года назад
These researchers reported the benefits were seen, within a short period of time. My advice, buy a bottle, take it until it is finished. If you don't see a benefit, it's not going to help you.
@21972012145525
@21972012145525 2 года назад
The research you cited refers to 4 grams of l-histadine. Taking 450 mg is a big difference than 4g... I saw another video that recommend taking powder format (similar to the study). Personally I’m interested in taking the tablets to see if a slight increase in l-histadine works...

explained yes, a little too judgemnetally. you already feel so bad and obvious with a serious skin issue - words like dud and pictures of loser genes iyou feel like your broken.
