This was great thank you. Concise specific but simple answer to how to move with a turtle. And mine is a red ear slider quite large (usually in a 90 gal tank) and we're moving driving 4 hours. I've been stressing but now I know, dont feed her for a few days b4 we move, use a 5 gal bucket, towel and when we stop for a break, give her some water to drink. ❤😊
I don't have a turtle and I still have to convince my parents so if they start asking me questions on what I would do if something happened I will know the answer. thank you soooo much for all you extremely helpful videos, I hope a get a turtle :)

Hey girl great work on the video! I have a question but its about my turtle and his tank and im not sure if my tank is big enough I have a 20 gallon tank but its only filled a little over half and I have too guppies with a painted turtle that is a quarter size I just got him about 1 month ago and I just want to make sure he has a big enough tank btw the guppies have plenty off hiding room and they all get along pretty well with Tuck(the turtle)! Also when I feed tuck I give him 5 little turtle pellots but he never eats them all and usually he will only eat bits of one then hes done and I let him eat for an hour. I put him in a small tupper ware container too so he focuses on the food.
My slider turtle is a baby and doesn’t eat any pellets at all, I have tried soaking them in tuna juice and nothing works . The only thing it eats are earth worms. Is that okay for a baby turtle? I just want to make sure it gets all the right nutrients it needs to grow. Thank you, your videos are bomb 🐢

Hey I saw the how to heat your turtle tank video but I was wondering if a baby turtle can burn himself if he can reach the heater in the tank?? Because I have one but I have no clue where to hide the heater so yeah I’m very scared he would burn him self it’s a baby musk turtle, and I can’t find a heater guard anywhere so I will buy it but I won’t have it very quickly so yeah it’s. 100w heater from glass btw
If its an aquatic turtle make sure the water fill up the turtle shell entirely or else the shell sides would start going up and your turtle is gonna die like that

Hey so we just saved a what we beleive to be a yellow bellied slider (newborn) that my dad nearly ran over in his lawn mower and he hasnt been eating for the past 3 days, also 1 of his eye lids is all white and has a red streak going through the center of it (he has only opened the other eye 1 or 2 times that we have seen)
How many hours is it safe for a turtle to be in a container? Is it a good idea to spray a turtle with a little bit of water, every couple of hours, so it won't get dehydrated?
I'm more amazed by the fact that you can take the turtles to the vet. The vets in Greece for some reason don't know how to treat other animals apart from dogs, cats, rabbits, rarely rodents and even more rarely farm animals. The only place that can treat all the animals is the Aristotle university of Thessaloniki. Luckily I live in Thessaloniki not very far from it but i don't like and trust the vet teachers because they mistreat my dog
Hey! I recently got a red eared slider and its a baby but he has been refusing to eat everything I offer. Ive tried pellets,lettuce,worms,shrimp, and it seems like nothing is working. I'm getting worried because I do not want him to starve. Hope you and your turtle is staying safe ❤!
Tbh I just got a red eared almost a year ago now and she wasn’t l eating at first and me not knowing anything about them was obviously concerned, take it to the vet and see what they recommend but my turtle started eating with time, almost as if she wasn’t comfortable yet. Speak to them and make sure you continue to interact with them so they can feel safer!

My false map turtle is 7yo at Christmas, 6 inches, in a 37-gallon tank and very active (crazy active) it's like he(she?) wants to jump out of the tank! could I put him on the floor to run around? kinda afraid of the grass due to fire ants. should I take him out daily to handle him(give attention)? the tank is in the living room every time I walk past he gets so excited and wants food. I love him, don't want to overfeed, so I tap on the glass, say HI, and calm down boy!! I had feeder fish before to entertain him, he ate 1-2 then they just co-existed. He eats dried mealworms, what do you feed Hoku? thanks for your time and response!!

What if an transporting my two turtles to a faimlys house for a three hour drive ?? because you have no one else to help and take care of them?? am visitng family and we got no one to take care of them. I may be moving to any other country which means I would have to take my turtle on a plane for 15 hours... I don’t know if that is safe so if you have any tips that would, be helpful
I think from a health standpoint it should be fine. Turtles are shipped overnight by plane. It's more of a question of getting them through TSA I think... I would just do research and print out any relevant information in case anyone gives you trouble. And definitely keep the turtle with you in a secure container...it should not have to be said, but I would definitely not put them with your checked baggage!!!
Also I have a juvenile leopard gecko, and I was feeding him every day, but recently he started refusing food every day and only wanting to eat every other day. Is this normal?
As they get older, you usually decrease the frequency of feedings to every other day but most geckos will eat if you offer them. Could have something to do with temperature, or maybe he's going to shed soon.... However, if he's still eating every other day without issues I wouldn't worry all that much and just keep a close eye to see if anything changes.
I'm moving from Victoria to Queensland it's going to take about 4 days will this harm the turtle? I really want to keep the turtles seen as they have been a big part of my life and also a rescue I want them to be happy and safe and also have the forever home I promised, but also don't want to hurt them in the process. I could really use some advice!! I have two 8 month old turtles, i have to go away on business for a week. unfortunately when i moved, it was just before the height of corona last year, i haven't made friends to be able to ask anyone to care for them while I'm gone. The car ride would be 3-4 hours long. I'm so torn, are they too young to leave alone for a week? I don't think they would have much interest in live bait because they're still so small. Turtle Girl what do I do? PLEASE HELP
if they're younger, a week is a bit long for sure... if you don't have anyone around, it may be better to take them. But in the end, you know the situation best, so only you can make that decision. Best of luck!
