We have been enjoying your posts since we met in Green Turtle. I noticed in the last 2 videos that your jack lines apear to be laid along the toe rail. Consider rigging them inboard. The idea is that your tether will pull tight before your wieght gets nesr the edge of the boat. Not just keeping you attached to the boat but actually keeping you ON the boat. There is alot of discussions in the sail training world. Practical Sailor is a good start.
@pdgadventures
@pdgadventures Месяц назад
Wonderful! Great suggestion!!! We've seen it along the stanchions in other videos and figured that was a good place to secure it to since we don't have a toe rail. We will check out the practical sailor for some other jackline placements. We certainly don't want to fall off the boat!!!

As you each tapped the hull to explane the difference between Port & Starboard you c east hit the opposite side: example.......as you stood under the Hills as you slapped the Starboard Hull you hit it's Port side conversely, the same is true to the Port hulls starboard side ! You should clarify from the perspective time looking forward pointing to the Port & starboard Bowes of the Port & Starboard hulls.

I can understand where you are coming from, hence why we added the graphic to clarify.

The pronounced " Dolphin striker " is actually a Seagull striker as it fa es up where as a Dolphinstriker faces down towards the water ,thus the name DOLPHIN !

Interesting! We have always heard the term used interchangeably. Good to know!

As we intend this is to be a basic introduction to sailing we're trying to introduce the concept to the new and aspiring sailor. Throwing too much at someone becomes overwhelming. We wanted to keep this video digestible and provide a base from which to build.

@pdgadventures
@pdgadventures Месяц назад
You are correct, however we did say "most" not "all". Also, we are trying to keep things super simple. As you're definitely aware, sailing terms and vocabulary is expansive and overwhelming to the beginner sailor.

Port and stbd are oriented from the stern, not the bow.
