That's a lot of floor for a little 110 machine but you did good looks awesome you should think about getting a roto to apply the stain it will save you hours and hours and it's a lot more uniform but looks great either way good job buddy

Hi! First I want to say thank you so much for all of your content. My wife and I are refinishing our floors with a dark Espresso stain from minwax and your instructions have been invaluable. I have a unique questions about fixing marks. We were wearing respirator masks during staining for the fumes and did not realize that the condensation from inside the masks actually caused random drips to land on the raw wood which in some cases left spots that came through the stain. Now that the stain has dried, how do you recommend getting rid of these blemishes? Another random spot was an accidental foot print from taking off a show that had stain on it and a sweaty foot effectively raised the wood and left a print. Should I just light hand sand and reapply stain to the spots? Thank you so much and I show everyone I can your content as it's extremely thorough and informative.

You'll need to isolate the entire plank by taping it off then sand the entire plank by hand with 100 grit paper. You could also use a hand scraper to remove the drip spots first but you'll need to lightly sand those scraped areas after. You could try sanding off the drips only but it'll likely leave sanding marks which will look different from original surrounding area after you reapply the stain. Hope this helps.

@@HardwoodFloorRefinishing101 Hi again. I wanted to give you an update. I followed the moping method where I apply stain with applicator, mopped excess, rang the mop out, moped some more and gave a given area about 3 or so total passes, only ringing my mope about once after the first major pass. I used Minwax Espresso so a pretty dark, heavily pigmented stain and I remember you saying several times that darker stains take a while to dry completely. Its winter hear on the east coast and its been pretty cold (between 0-5C). Here is my question, its been now exactly 34 hours and when placing my hand on the floor there is still some tackiness. Should I be concerned that we did not remove enough stain or is it likely that it just needs more time. I would add that there doesn't look like there is streaks or anything but its the first time I've stained a floor so I just do not know what to expect. Thanks again! Also, I have not yet been able to address the marks in the floor simply because I do not want to walk on the stain just yet. When I can I will update you on that as well :)

@@devondavidian6917 Press a clean white cloth on floor to see if the stain transfers, if not its ready to apply finish. Maintain room temperature of at least 19 for stain, and urethane.
