I'm a Dota newbie and I gotta tell you, the Battle Pass and progression overall is terribly explained ... So it seems like the BP in Dota 2 is basically a glorified shop rather than proper progression ? Kinda sucks, doesn't seem to compare too well to other games' Battle Pass offerings. Is there any real progression for me to enjoy besides the BP, which is barely anything considering how it works ?
Congrats, you now understand the battlepass better than 90% of veteran dota players :) In all seriousness the only "fun" part of battlepass is probably the cavern crawl, which pretty much only means playing random heroes every game anyways Hopefully part 2 will have more progression, although I'm pretty sure the diretide mini-game is going to be free for everyone
@@Arch3rDota Overall, would you say the BP is worth buying even if I only spend the $10 and grind out what I can ? I just started playing last week so probably not looking to spend $200 for the top rewards right away lmao, but would like some cosmetic goodies to grind for regardless.
@@veeplusctrl2520 I personally went for the cheap 10$ one, primarily because I like the cavern crawl and I think the quests are somewhat rewarding. My goal is also only to get towers (although it is actually possible to get CM persona for 10$ as well, you just need to grind to the absolute max)
Every week you can earn atleast 5 bp levels by completing weekly challenges. Cavern crawl part one completion will give you 31 levels. Part two gives you around 14. Candy shop might give you few more battle points, but it depends on luck. Since bp is free for all, i think one can grind ~120-130 levels without buying bp levels.
I made a mistake, thinking that there are two level 120 bundles for 30$, while in fact there are two level 60 bundles for 15$ (Thanks Jerrold Rennie), here's what changes in the "bundles": * PA Persona-deal: You need to get the level 100 pack, grind most of the free levels, and buy both level 60 bundles to reach it (80$ instead of 70$) * Razor Arcana: You need to get the level 100 pack, grind most of the free levels, buy both level 60 bundles AND THREE bundles of 24 levels (110$ insetad of 90$) * Void Arcana: Same as the other except you need to buy SEVEN bundles of 24 levels (180$ instead of 130$) Makes a huge difference for the void arcana deal, so sorry if I might have baited anyone into going for it, the last thing I want is for valve to make even more money of confused customers.
Yes! That's what I'm doing with the past years battle pass treasures (although I think you might just about make back a 10$ battlepass after 2/3 years wait)
The return is not that great, if you're main goal is to get back your investment in battle pass buy selling the immortals, you won't get any hefty returns, in fact, it's a losing investment, if you will include all the money and time you sacrificed. Been participating since TI7 - TI10, TI11 is the worst battle pass in terms of ROI.
And i think you will miss all the regional qualifiers predictions but thats not that many lvls, if bp 2 is after TI you will also miss those predictions also i dont know whats up with the stickers thing but that will probably also end with TI Also if you maybe care, only the money you spend in the bp 1 will go to the TI 11 prize pool, valve will keep all the bp 2 money
oh god no you're absolutely correct. It thankfully only affects a couple of the deals (and only slightly), but thanks a ton for letting me know, I'll pin a comment about it
