My marriage is in shambles. Me and my wife are separating at the end of this week. My oldest daughter is going to come with me. I want to save my marriage. I commit to saving my marriage. I love my wife!!!!!

My husband walked away from me and our 10 month old son at the time all our other kids are older. We have been together 17 years and he left us for a woman he had been having an affair with, that was a year and a half ago, he went to jail and is still there 10 months ago and I have no idea where we even stand. Ive remained faithful and determined although it gets so hard sometimes I just keep pushing forward and I keep praying and fasting and believing that God will restore our marriage. Praying for all who are going thru this and hope we can all get our spouse back using this amazing message.

Just found this video... amazing advice. A little back story about myself and the shit that led up to us splitting up. I served 16 years in the Royal Marines. After a tour in Afghanistan in 2009, I met Elizabeth and we started a relationship. At first my head wasn’t in it, but we persevered and things were good. I knew I wanted to be with Elizabeth, after a period of time. We got married in Las Vegas (by Elvis) in 2011, life was amazing. I subsequently left the Marines, but I never had any closure with my experiences from operational tours. Elizabeth was finishing her doctorate in educational psychology, and decided she didn’t want to live in our current city, as my mum and sister didn’t get along with her. So we up sticks and moved to Kent. At the time Elizabeth was pregnant with our daughter, working in a really stressful job and no family support around us. I was working in anti-piracy industry and was away from home quite a bit. When Sofia was born I decided to quit my security work. However, with this, we took a massive pay cut to our finances. So Elizabeth was essentially the bread winner. It was ok at first, we had the usual arguments, children, money, me making bad decisions etc. Life was tough we were in debt and drowning. On top of this, we had a son, Jude. We decided to move back to the south west of England to alleviate the stress, as she had family in the immediate area. Initially, things were ok but nothing was solved by this move. Life for me became increasingly difficult. The following events occurred: September 2017 I walked out on my family. November 2017 I was diagnosed with severe depression. May 2018 I was diagnosed with PTSD and almost ended my life. I met up with Elizabeth over coffee and connected with her. We initially got back together late May and spent almost two months together. Life was good, we were happy, but I hadn’t fixed anything and had no plan of action. I had no treatment plan because of the waiting list and decided to manage it alone. Subsequently, it didn’t workout for me and I ended up leaving again. Life has been really difficult for me. I made all the mistakes alluded to in this video. Crying, explaining and I guess emotionally beating her down. Fast forward to today, I started my treatment for PTSD and it wrote me off this past weekend. On top of this I found out Elizabeth had met someone and it completely span me out. I had the crisis team with me all weekend and I was just in bits about the whole situation. I was messaging Elizabeth saying, I’m going to change, fight for my family etc, but her defences are fully up. It’s hard not to message her about how I’m feeling, but I know I have to get myself right and prove to her that I am the person she initially met. I believe counseling CAN work, if both are open and willing. I don’t agree that counseling doesn’t work. My husband and I went, and I was more willing than he. A lot of points were valid in this commentary but I also believe that both parties just have to have the understanding that no one is perfect and they both need to be involved in the success of the marriage. If the unwilling spouse doesn’t want to, they will most likely repeat the same cycle in a new relationship. Gotta fix it at some point. Happiness occurs when something “happens”, so it’s essentially an inside job of what we’re going to allow to disrupt our peace. Joy is the key!

Three months ago my husband went from being head-over-heels in love and the most loving man I could ever imagine, to being withdrawn, unloving and unable to communicate. He says he has finally realized that it is his pattern to fall madly in love, so much so that he makes drastic decisions like getting married, only to fall out of love and feel like running away after 18 months. A small tragedy for me. He ( agrees with you) that marriage counselling doesn't work. He is in therapy to " sort himself out", but says he is doing that for him and not for us. Working on a marriage sends shudders down his spine. I have told him I am committed to the concept of us and that I wish to remain married to him, but have had trouble finding advice on how to do that without his active participation, which is what makes your channel truly wonderful! Me and my wife have been married for a year now. It's a distance relationship(working on our paperwork to be with her). For some weeks now she's been acting weird about quitting cuz she doesn't deserve me and am good and kind person so doesn't want to hurt me(said all this weeping profusely on the phone).
