Omou 思う = I have an opinion Kangaeru 考える = logical thinking, deep thinking

It's the same in my native languages, to think as an opinion and to think about something are two different words.

So, the omou is to think smth, to believe, to suppose While kangaeru means to think over, to ponder, to contemplate.
