Another tip if anyone didn't know. PUSH THE BALL. Don't let the Zone set-up. Your opponent will quickly get out of it. Once a few transition buckets are scored. Second.... Use the pump fake. To throw off your opponent's timing. Most of the time they are looking for a quick steal in passing lanes.
i only run zone bc as you said, the meta is just blowing by people or driving baseline. zone forces people to actually slow it down and run some type of plan. i hate running zone though..but it feels like it’s what you have to do this year.
Thanks a lot, great video. Sometimes people uses their guard on middle of the three point land and 2 players are one side of behind three point and other 2 players are the other side of three point land position. And they do use blow by animations against me,thats the toughest situation for me cause mostly i use off ball defence. How can i stop it,should i switch on ball or bring help form one side, which also leads to an open jumpshot. And whats the position he is using, is it a freelance?
Insightful stuff. Had a subscriber send me over. GG's on the past couple of matches. If you ever stop by one of the livestreams ill make sure to shout you out. This is tight work right here. Dropped a sub left a like. Keep grinding bro.
2-3 is cheese if you get an off ball player who knows how to exploit it especially with the movement and animation delay in 2k20. He was basically playing Ed reed on defense and has intimidator contesting shots barely close to me
Great content. I’ve assembled a very fast, slashing type “My Team” because no matter how much I practice I can’t shoot. Is there an offense that is conducive to fast point guards, slashing shooting guards and forwards?
I would try out the pace freelance. And incorporate as much pick and roll into your offense as you can to get to the basket easily . Or even dribble handoff plays. I've covered a few plays that incorporate pick and roll and handoffs. Fast guards would really do well with that
Good video! The only problem I have is when you kick it out to the open person they are usually like 5 feet behind the 3 point line. I dont know why 2k does this
@@adel8167 when you are icon passing, direct the person receiving that ball where you'd want him to catch it. So directional pass the player closer to the basket if you'd like that to happen
Had to sub off this. I'm still adjusting with the point guard position and I was doing great until me and the team started running into guys who ran zone defense to a "T". I'll definitely incorporate this into my play style and it'll definitely translate to more wins in the rec and the rest of the game in general. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
If you are practicing against zone just don't score. Just work on getting people in positions. You'll know if you could have scored or not. Just stay on offense the whole time .
I just gave the a buddy of my mine the business Friday. He was running a 3-2 zone... After taking a game to figure out what he was doing. I just went into quick iso as I was coming up the court, this gets your guys in the corners ie. the weak spot too. Easy lemon cheesy.
Noel Campbell Pull up the play call screen, the first option should say quick isolation. It’s a quick action not an actual play. On PS4 you hit left on the D-Pad for play calling then you should see it at the top of your screen.
Nothin says “ I can’t guard u” more than zone or when someone is constantly playing off ball. No skills. There’s blow by’s but if u got skill it won’t always happen, u can stay in front. If I wanted to play the cpu I’ll play offline lol besides, playing on ball helps u fight screens and get those calls and it makes switching easier. That’s why I play on ball and rarely switch to cpu on ball maybe transition in some cases
RCATHEGREAT I really don’t tho. I lose games of course but I’m in every game and got more W’s than L’s so I can’t complain lol Some transitions and some pick and roll situations so I can play both pass and drive with the hedge player then I switch right back. just finished Bucks vs Lakers, all he could do was dribble around with Bron or try and feed AD. Shut that down then I’m living with Kuz tryna our shoot me or drive on me while I got shrunk floor on lol no inside on Bron, shrunk floor, and try to play straight up on AD and bring help if I need. W
Lol. Patience and good shooting. Work inside-out. Mavs might be good to use. But defensively, you should be able to sag off Bledsoe, Ginnis and Lopez with enough time to close out
@@rcathegreat4358 I was just looking at them ...I'm practicing rn. Since a few homies start running that 2-3 I been losing mad cash and instead of complain I just wanna beat em. Most people don't respect off ball play plus zone but it is what it is? Do you respect it?
@@santanah.6897 Yeah everyone has their own style I guess. The game has evolved. The same principles from back in the day don't apply anymore due to poor AI Defensive mechanics and just a new generation that's not built for on ball. They don't think like we think. Just gotta adjust and beat em
@@just2slick195 I'm making a defensive video soon bro. Against all the cheese!! But if you run zone just gotta be smart with it and control everyone on the court.
This wouldn’t be difficult to break if they just kept the 2-3 and 3-2 freelance back in the game it literally doesn’t make sense why it’s not in the game
Literally just lost cuz a dude ran zone on me and the way how the guys position on the floor literally doesn’t make sense guys on the wings are damn near at half court so we gotta pass it up and then it’s a turnover if this was last year zones got shot out the gym was literally pointless
