@@alonzolouis6107 use the "Wall up" feature holding L2 and pushing the right stick towards the opponent . Also 2k did a good job this year. Sometimes you have to jump bro. In reality, just getting your hand up, players like Kobe, AD, LeBron, still gonna make those. Those times you actually need to time the shot and jump to truly effect it.

Best defense video I have seen. Keeping it real and showing true skill. I'd really appreciate a post video because stopping some backdown Tim Duncan's are very challenging. I never know when to right stick up and push left stick towards and wind up out of position if they are patient in the post.

I've been offballing since I picked up 2k13 or something. I picked up kind of a hybrid between the two later on, but whenever I tried to go more than like, 40% onball, I would get blown by every time. I think I'll start running man-to-man first half or so, and maybe switch it up to the 1-3-1 steal defense later on in the game in clutch moments to feel out how I do with both styles.
Great stuff bro!! I have a question for you... How do you handle the inevitable "comeback cheese" in Unlimited? You know, where all of a sudden your team is clank City and your opponent starts hitting everything/getting every call/getting every board?
Great question 1.Know that 2k is gonna be 2k. Some BS stuff is gonna happen 2. Get the rebound and do not rush to pass the ball, slow your offense, walk it up the court. Controlling the pace of the game frustrates your opponent. When down, they want 3s and fast break points . Take that away from them. 3. Use timeouts!!! As soon as a 3 goes in that brings a lead under 10. That's a timeout ball 4. Switch your scoring ratio. If you were shooting a 3 every other possession or so, it is wise to limit three point attempts to once every 6 possessions or something like that. Missed 3s lead to fast breaks. And if 2k is making you miss, that's not a good formula. Getting open dunks or getting to the foul line by getting inside is usually very tough for 2k to screw you on. Not impossible, but tougher. 5. Only happens against some players, but if they double team you, be patient. Call timeout that frustrates them that they can't make you rush a bad pass. 2k is going to make you pass it out of bounds . Don't fall for it
Yo, this was a great video. I’ve gone 12-0 and still didn’t know how to body up. My opponents usually shoot 50-60 percent on me. If I’m already winning 75-80 percent of my games, I can’t wait to see where this tapping RT/R2 thing takes me.
It's a good video. It works for him and others as well. This method just makes the most sense to me and isn't as awkward for the fingers. I stop blow by all the time easily. Both are good!
How do you stop LeBron fast breaking or just bringing the ball down the court coming down and just running on the baseline to dunk every play? And the lakers getting to many points in the paint?

Great Video, shows how great playing Man-Up defense is over relying on the CPU who can be manipulated. On rare Occasions Off-Ball is the only effective option but it's a last resort and even then I'm On-Balling most the time.
Regular teams and bad defenders are going to get beat by good offensive players just like real life. If it's an average offensive player the same thing explained here works. But I'll start using more play now footage
@@rcathegreat4358 Ive had my worst trouble guarding the baseline & paint & when i think I'm in front, he will be on the side & especially this happens in the paint, yet every time i defend in the paint I foul, but al ot of my opponents can block & especially from behind without fouling. Any tips will be greatly appreciated.
@@samiamcolesioe2469 hmm hard to understand this without seeing it on the game but you could turn your body and force them to the middle where help is or turn your force direction to middle I'm the settings . This will force all drives into the middle but then I'd recommend having help defense on and off ball pressure on moderate for some players so your team will help

bro even the AI plays like this... the entire game is just players running at the net... there is 0 skill... just run lol... like the damn olympics... or they just long throw the shit to a player already standing in the paint... i prefer the street ball version of this game (yeh i said it old school NBA street vol 1&2 plays better than NBA2k20)... there is actual skill envolved not just running past everyone and/or throwing the ball at a player already standing deep inside the perimeter...
Bruh this is the worst 2k to me. Pick N Roll cheese, missed wide open threes, Lakers and Rockets step back cheese... Etc The game is basically a rim run. Not to mention everyone online runs zone defense... How sway???? No one runs zone in real life. You'd get shot out the gym running zone in the modern day NBA
😂😂 well see things are worst than others. But any year I just get the best I can at what the game offers. All cheese can be stopped even though it can be annoying. Hopefully next year addresses some issues.

These vids are great but the fact is hardly any of the tips work. The stopping the blow by thing doesn’t work. Guys leave assignments all the time. Nobody gets open on offence other than by luck. The game is just a mess and i’ve tried to give it a good chance
Sorry to hear that. I use everything I show and I win 99.8% of my games. But at the same time, I couldn't just watch Jordan do a move and then go try it and expect the same results instantly. Takes practice
RCATHEGREAT Yeah dude not a slant on you or what you are saying. I am just rubbish most of the time. Cannot defend at all. Whenever I hold L2 i feel like my defenders are stuck in the mud. Then on offence i just can’t get open without running specific plays, most of which a good player scouts out.
RCATHEGREAT Bullshit lol. I used to win 99.8% of my games in 2k19 with hundreds of matches sample size. This year I only win about 75-80%. I didn’t get worse, this year is just inconsistent. Not saying the tips don’t work, it is just that it is impossible to stop blowbys, screens, and paint cheese in this game if the person knows how to do it. And the layups/jumpers are very random from game to game.
