@@noobmaster8155 Can you explain to me what it is about Josh Middleton that you are hearing that is unique? I love his screams, but it sounds like pretty straightforward fry screams in my opinion... and if you are talking about the "pitched" screaming like at the end of "I sever", it's deceptive. The melody of the synth in the background coupled with what I believe to be clean vocals low in the mix make it sound much more pitched than it really is. It's a great mixing technique, but not his screaming that causes it. Watch live version if you don't want to take my word for it. But if there's something else I haven't heard (I am not hugely familiar with the band) I'd love to hear it. I know I am not who you were asking for an explanation, but I am curious.

Sounds like theirs an imbalance of how you’re creating the sound. Usually this is the result of constricting the throat or pushing too hard to force the sounds out. These vocals are all about balance and doing the least amount of work to get the maximum amount of output. Check out our videos on breathing for metal vocals and power ≠ tone for more info on that. You may need to go back to the foundation of how you’re getting to the sound in the first place.
