I’m 12:51 seconds in, and honestly this has revolutionised and changed my view on high screams. Literally everything you’ve said so far has resonated so heavily particularly with feeling that “wall” or barrier between lows and highs. For years I’ve only been able to achieve mediocre low screams with the belief I’ll never be able to achieve a high scream without damaging my vocal chords. This video has given me so much confidence and the drive to learn and experiment with my voice within safe boundaries. Even just watching you hit the clean note and add the grit/distortion encouraged me to somewhat imitate and I can already both hear and feel the difference! Thank you so much \m/

I am amazed by how youre both an amazing vocalist on your own, but also how amazingly good of a speaker you are, you follow most criterias that proffessional speakers or teachers are taught to captivate their audience, and you do this while also teching people how to unlock their screams. This is why you are the best

@@fuqua626 yeah it seems lows are easiest for me and mids are ok, but the highs sound ridiculous still, im definately working on it but they just dont pack the same punch in terms of projection and distortion that i can get with my mids and lows. Im getting there though. Ive found the more i do with my tongue and mouth shapes the more drastically different the highs sound which hasnt been the case for my lows. The use if the tongue has been a game changer for me, suddenly I have access to some filthy notes. The guitars taking the throat out of tone is so interesting, really something to be aware of alone when practising, its almost the pick noise of screaming.

Hey this is pretty awesome! I totally get that sound at 10:55 but it was an intentional choice for doing black metal, since that genre can be intentionally very thin and sharp. Kind of like a ghost, all essence, no body. I love the idea of choosing pitches to base your screams off of. When I was in the process of tracking guttural vocals, I'd do lots of warm-ups that involve sweeping from low to high in pitch without breaking (smoothing out that break), etc. Of course it's always great to grab onto these new extra techniques and thought patterns for approaching music (in every sense- theory to technique to production). Cheers mate, this has a lot of great information.

My lows and mid scream was fine but I'm struggling with my high scream so i thought that in order to get the high scream i did exactly same as the 7:28 part cause i thought by increasing the pitch from low to high pitch, i could figure out how does my vocal chords achieve the pitch by pushing more air to make my vocal chords more powerful to achieve the high pitch scream sound. Thankfully that i found this video in my searching to prove me that my technique was wrong and now i found a better and safer way than pushing and hurting my vocal chords.🤘🔥

This helps a lot. I also like the imagery thing. Its how i learn to scream is think of the sound not being me but something else trying to leave me... For my low screams i describe them as a demon wanting out and im just opening up the cage and all the doors along the way so it can get out... Or ill tell ppl to think of their voice in the morning they arent trying to sound gritty they just are gritty and thats what u want. Dont force just relax more and the air will go along the path. Thank you... I definitely was stressing about the sound having all that throaty lower sound so i was stressing it more and getting too high.
