Here is an educational video about screen printing tee shirts and other items that utilizes a simple technique which will allow you to print 3 different colors at the same time on one screen. This is a very cool home brew that is perfect for do it yourself enthusiasts and home printers limited to 1 color bench presses. You can use this method to step up your game and print more than 1 color using only 1 screen. You can use this process with bench presses, hinge clamps or even a screen on a table. The options on how to do it are unlimited and we encourage you to take the principle demonstrated in this video and experiment with it. You will discover that running 2 or 3 colors on 1 screen is fun and practical even on a multi-color press in certain situations. Use your imagination and push this to the limit! Never a stupid question when you're learning. No the stencil would be fine but the idea is to make it so you can print multiple shirts very fast. This way you can print 3 colors at one time with 3 squeegee strokes and not labor of any kind in between. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment! ☠

A lot of split fountain #screenprinting going on today ;) In this version the ink does not blend and yet we can print 3 colors on the same screen at the same time with this #splitfountain.

Can you do a one screen,screen print with 2 colors say to like do a white under base on black then use the same screen to print a color over the under base coat so it pops

Are there any differences in the angle or print stroke for a job like this? For whatever reason I tried this out and got some bleeding and also found that I was getting an inconsistent print , I think my words might be too close to each other , though I tried spacing them out. Also ink seems to flood over the channel walls. Maybe I am over flooding or putting too much ink at once.

If the ink is going over the walls then it's likely too much ink. Print quality in relation to bleeding may be your flood and stroke. It's hard to say without being there to see exactly what you are doing. If you're off contact is too high, that can cause problems as well. Watch your flood and stroke pressure too. Maybe a stupid question, but couldn't you just tape over the other stencils and go a color at a time, or would that not work because when you remove the tape the stencil would tear up?

+1CatspitProductions - what if your design is all compacted into one? For example a floral design.. Obviously the leaves would be very close to the flowers. In your example here, the 3 different designs are seperate. My question is what if the design is all in one close together?

Vato Alfred Then you can't really do this. You could only do it as a one off by hand "painting" the inks into the areas of the stencil where you want them and then doing a print stroke once the screen is full of ink. Kind of like when I did the video about "painting" on the screen without a stencil. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-nRf5g5jkkGg.html But it would also work as a mono print with a stencil. i should do a video about it....LOL. +Vato Alfred You can use the same screen if you do one colour at a time and carefully put tape underneath the parts you don,t want the colour to be, takes a bit longer and is a bit trickier but you still only need one screen :)

+rosiehughes1996 Yes, you could tape off or mask the parts you don't want to print but if they are close together then you'll have to clean ink off the screen each time you change colors and re-mask or tape for each. You could do it but yeah, it would be slow and perhaps tedious.

I'm curious.. With a design that has elements that are a tight fit, couldn't I expose one half with one color and lay emulsion on the other half and expose that half with the other elements of a different color? I believe the registration should be perfect because I exposed with the same logo and taped off the portions I'm not screening at that moment..

That’s not the problem. Rather how do you use the other side of the screen while the shirt is still spray tacked to the pallet? You won’t be able to take the shirt off and put it back on for the second color. So flipping the screen is an extra step. If you can do it so you don’t have to clean ink and it will line up easily by eye then yes, you might do that. But what you propose is a matter of logistics and practicality on press as to whether you can do it efficiently or not. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment!
