Just 23 minutes to teach everything you need to start practising, this is an awesome tutorial! I always struggled when doing eyes, I used to do them very linear, no sharp edges, etc.. (Basically all the things you guys said that are bad to do)

Nice video guys! One thing I might say is that it may be easier to understand sculpting the eye on an actual face as opposed to in a sphere simply because it is easier to see where the eye would lie of the face and the different viewing angles of it on a face. Just a thought :D

Hey guys! Could you please give an advice on the amount of time one should spend on watching tutorials versus the time you should spend on practicing each day. Thank you!
@FlippedNormals
@FlippedNormals 5 лет назад
That's actually a really good question! In short, you should spend as much time as you can on doing work. You'll learn some from watching tutorials, but doing it yourself will be far more beneficial. For this tutorial for instance, watch it once, then try to sculpt a bunch of eyes. Once youve done it, go back to this tutorial and see if there are more things you can pick up :) We find that you learn different things from the same tutorial based on where you are in your learning journey. We hope this answers it! :)

pls excuse me, first day using zbrush. when i added the sphere as at 3:36, the sphere became part of the main sculpt and i couldn't resize it separately and subsequently had to close and reopen zbrush without saving to revert it to non-sphere-head, losing some work since i couldn't undo the action. if anyone knows how to do it properly or more importantly how to undo it (for future reference), please let me know D-:
@HeavyMxtal
@HeavyMxtal 5 лет назад
Your ztools shouldn't have become one because you would either have had to append or insert the sphere, making it a separate tool within the sub tools. Unless you used the BRUSH INSERT, in which case yes, it would all still be one tool. Don't know the specifics. ANSWER: You can do a Auto (Poly Group) within the Tool Pallet, and then Sub Tool, (Group Split)

The Asian "double eyelid" is not exactly the that crease you mentioned there. The crease you mentioned is the gap between the eyebrow and the eyeball. Asians have flat eyebrows and a lot of fat at the position of that gap, most of them don't have that crease until they grow old. The "double eyelid" is instead a skin fold formed at the bottom of the upper eyelid caused by the eyelid skin above that fat area being a bit extra long. Sometimes Asian people have both these creases, especially at an older age when the fat at that area becomes a bit less.
