Hi, ThierryDeux. I'm glad you enjoyed this. The Sculpt Environment can certainly be intimidating. It admittedly takes more time of just "playing around" than the typical modeling workspace. I highly recommend just playing around in the Sculpt Environment without any intention of a final product. I see a lot of people get discouraged because they want to make a very complex object with their very first attempt. Stick with it and you'll find it to be a great asset in conjunction with the other modeling tools Fusion 360 offers. Cheers, Kevin :)

This was a very helpful tutorial. I went thru the process myself. However, I had a lot of trouble with the bridge command. It is required that the spaces being bridged have an equal number segments (faces around their perimeter). For some reason, some of the faces had 2 line segments on them, and I had to subdivide some faces to ensure that there were the same nubmer of line segments to bridge. Also - I found that sometimes my bridge command created a "blockish" structure. But persistence wins, and I eventually completed some nice bridges.

Thanks for the teaching! It was very informational! I would like to ask: 1) Since there are no timeline as in the normal mode, would i be able to change the previous sketch? For eg: the spline we made to make the handle of the can, if i'm not satisfied with the shape, would i be able to change it in the end? (changing the spline shape, instead of selecting the surface and change them one by one) 2) After pressing finish form button, i right click to edit the form, after changing it, do I still need to rethicken? If i have added new sketches to the previous done form, do i need to rethicken? If i press thicken +3mm, would the previous go to (previous 3mm to now ) 6mm, while the new sketches become 3mm? 3) After thickening and finishing form, i went back to edit. Now I deleted a surface but it's not a hole (because it has been thickened!) So though outer part of the form is deleted ( i wanted to make a bridge) but inner is still intact and i couldn't select it. How do i rehole it to bridge? Sorry for the loooong question, thanks in advance

The video and instructions are exceptional. One observation, the step where you scale the bottom part of the model and then fill the hole, makes the surface no even for 3d printing. I tried twice with the same result.

Another great tutorial *smashes upvote icon* I just had one problem, when I went to bridge the two handle ends, it said that the segments needed to have the same number of lines or a multiple. I changed it so that the lines on the handle had a multiple of the base and it worked. I guess its not really a question, but just a problem I ran into.
@ProductDesignOnline
@ProductDesignOnline 5 лет назад
Thanks, Brian! Yea, the bridge tool can be pretty picky...similar to the loft command, where Fusion 360 won't want to compute the operation if it things the number of faces are different. I'm glad you were able to resolve the issue...and thanks for sharing this in case others run into a similar issue! Cheers, Kevin :)
@johnf4388
@johnf4388 4 года назад
what do you mean by "the segments needed to have the same # of lines"? the two holes you want to bridge need to have the same amount of faces around its perimeter to join? if so, how do you add the extra faces?

After creating the box in step 1 then clicking ok, how can you edit the dimensions after. Down below in the time line I noticed it’s not possible to right click the box and change the dimensions.

I am not sure why but when I right click the bottom line after selecting it I get a totally different instruction set. After experimenting I found that if I hold the shift key while right clicking the line I get the correct instruction screen. Just FYI.

You can 'undo' (CTRL/CMD + Z)...otherwise, unfortunately, the T-splines are not fully parametric so you will have to delete and redo or modify it again.

As I was following you, I faced the message that "The edges from one side must be equal to or a multiple of the other side." I think you have also different holes between the water can and the handle. Would you explain about this?
@ProductDesignOnline
@ProductDesignOnline 5 лет назад
Hi, 나이젤. I'm assuming you got this error message when trying to use the bridge command? It can be picky at times.. The most important thing is to make sure when you select each side to bridge...that you select only the edges on that outer perimeter. Double-check that you didn't select any other edges. If that doesn't seem to be it - then also check that you have a the same number of faces on the end of the handle and the watering can hole. You can always add more faces (or take some away) to the handle to satisfy the bridge command. Let me know if you're able to get it to work! Cheers, Kevin :)
