Hi, am I right in thinking that the website administrator has to set up all the user's passwords manually or can users sign up themselves and create their own password as this is what I will require. I am also looking to use it with Document Library Pro.
Hi there! You're right. The admin of the website sets the passwords for the categories and not the customers. Should you have further questions, please reach us via our Support Center - barn2.com/support-center/. Cheers! -Keza
Thankyou - I finally think I may have found the right plugin. I wasted so much time this past few weeks, trying to find a replacement plug in for an old and now defunct "Allow Categories" plugin
Hi, @Gartmoorchildcare. Thank you for the comment. I'm glad to hear that the plugin sounds like a good fit for your needs. When you're ready, you can get the plugin here - barn2.com/wordpress-plugins/password-protected-categories/. Hi, MUM VANOSS. Thanks for your interest in Password Protected Categories! An option to log access to each category, data metrics (record login history) is a popular feature request and we are hoping to add it to the plugin in the future, although unfortunately I can’t give you any exact timescales right now. I have added your ‘vote’ to our feature request list which will help us to decide when to prioritize it over other new features. We will let you know if/when we add this in future. In the meantime, I'm sorry that this isn't possible. As an alternative, you can use Google Analytics to track the number of visits to each category page. Please let us know if you have any more questions. You can also get in touch via our dedicated Support Center at barn2.com/support-center/ . Cheers.
Hi, amazing plugin. I am interested in the user protection feature. I am using download monitor (plugin) to give paid users downloable files, but I want those files to be user specific download only, so only that user can download his paid file. Is this possible with your plugin? Thank you in advance.
Hi, Joynner. Thanks for your interest in Password Protected Categories! You can continue to use Download Monitor to manage direct access to the files on your site. What our plugin allows you to do is use password, user, and/or user role access at the category or custom taxonomy level. See: barn2.com/kb/create-password-protected-categories/ I hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any more questions. You can also get in touch via our dedicated Support Center at barn2.com/support-center/ . Cheers. - Edge
like there are 5000 login subscriber/users in my online courses website, but i want to give access to my premium course just to 2000 of them, is it posible to reach that 2000 or more specific users?
Hi Kevin. Some page builder plugins such as Visual Composer or Elementor include shortcodes for displaying posts or categories on a page which may not work with the privacy options in the Password Protected Categories plugin. However, this problem can be fixed by manually excluding the protected posts or categories from the page builder element. The exact process will depend on the page builder that you're using. Should you have further questions, please reach us via our Support Center - barn2.com/support-center/. Cheers! - Keza
