I've been following ‪@micro-house‬ on TikTok for a few months. He is #selfbuilding a #microhouse in #edinburgh and has documented this every step of the way. He does not have a #constructionindustry background but what he has achieved is remarkable. The research, attention to detail and time taken to implement the design are beyond what most professionals would do. We had a long chat about the insulation, air tightness, cladding and most of all the unusual foundation design, using ground anchors.

Fantastic! Very interesting, I'm here for more. In a similar vain I would be interested in your take on the Segal self build construction method. There's an interesting story down in Lewisham, London on that topic.

I like heli-piles. Used them on a concept for a cabin in a wood that was subject to preservation order and also for a decking on the edge of an root protection zone. However, local authorities don't seem to like projects anywhere near trees & have had major issues convincing them otherwise even when I have a tree report, control measures, technical solution & case studies to back up my design proposals. Seems to have got worse in that regard since introduction of NPF4.
