If you right-click on your document but the "7-Zip" option is missing, then make sure you are running the program as an "Administrator" account on your computer. This will solve the problem! :)
if I have encrypted a zip file using keka and AES 256 and want to email it to someone with a windows computer, what software do they need to be able to decompress?
Great tutorial, I love the way how you explained the steps.!!! However, I have a question. What should I do with the file that it still remains in the desk? What should I do to delete it and be secured that nobody will try to recover the data? For instance, I encrypted the file, the second folder that it is encrypted shows up, but the other one is still there and it is not encrypted. I deleted the file permanently, however, if someone comes and tries to recover the data from my hard drive they will see my file. Do you have a way to encrypt the original folder?
great video... It seems so difficult to get the correct info on how to send an encrypted email/doc. It wont allow me to protect a document on word, because its web based and not a desktop app.
Great Tutorial and Explained It for me, Easily and perfectly... Thanks for the help and the Tutorial.. 11 out of 10... I can not believe that some people, gave you a thumbs down and who ever gave you the thumbs down, i'd like to see them do a better explanation (i.e.: Dave,,, ignore the thumbs down..)..
@@grpapajim ,, Thanks for letting us know and What has this got to do with the Video. He is only explaining, how to use 7-Zip. If 7-Zip has a security issue, its good that you should let people know...?? (refer to the link)... www.macobserver.com/news/7zip-security-vulnerability/ ... Before giving a thumbs down, get your facts corrected and I'll give you some information, about Some Online Security Advice (i.e.: since you want to know about security issues and this video has nothing to do with this). MOST PASSWORD PROTECTED (ONLINE) SITES ARE ALL VULNERABLE. In other words, your password for your email account/other sites you access/etc are more Vulnerable than 7-Zip/Zip and/or AES-256 encryption and/or 2-factor Authentication. The most secure encryption is to use an off-line hardware device (i.e.: like a Yubico key -refer to the link... www.yubico.com/setup/) and this is usually the safest method because it is not fully connected to the internet (i.e.: it's offline). The problem that we encounter with passwords, is that most people are still 'Traditionally' used to using passwords(i.e.: & because of this tradition, sites will not change the password-protection) and Most password protected sites are Vulnerable. Keep in mind that 7-Zip is designed as an extra layer of protection when sending password-protected information when sending an email (i.e.: should your email or someone's email is hacked). It's better to store important information on a USB (i.e.& off-line). You can actually use more secure password-protected information(i.e.: when sending an email), but it is still a very complex way to password-protect it and encrypt it (i.e.: not as easy to use as 7-Zip and as mentioned in the video). In addition to what I mentioned above, 7-Zip was originally designed as a compression tool to send emails and the password-protection is an extra layer of protection (i.e.: try sending Large emails un-compressed. You need to send 3-4 emails separately).
@@petera6191 you are also correct with that reasoning but i would expect some kind or responsibility when post a review without mentioning the whole picture and then let the viewer decide. That's only my opinion of course...
Hi Dave: Kindly i have a very difficult issue in windows 10, I encrypted a folder in windows 7 a year ago, and now I cannot open the pics in the folder
Hello, I sent an encrypted attachment to a person and I included the password. How much damage have I done? Is the encryption on that 1 attachment going to protect it at all? 🤭
