Thanks very much for this, my trusty Flex VRG 3401 finally started acting up today and just to put it in perspective I've had it for 10 years and used it very extensively . Absolute beast of a machine !

Still love my OG Beast! I went to a smaller backing plate for 5" pads instead of 6.5" pads. New felt ring lightly oiled as well. Still haven't needed to replace the brushes yet. I'll order some to have on hand when needed. Great video and great tool.

This is good to know. I bought a second hand 3401 off eBay with a smaller backing plate for harder to reach areas...also, to have a second one as a backup. The cord has been replaced on the second one. My original, the cord is sketchy. I think it may need replacing soon. Thank You for sharing this.

The Rep from Flex is a great spokesman. Much better rep than the guy from Lake Country who seems to be in a growing state of clinical depression as he talks about his products.

So there's no need to clean or lubricate the metal parts behind the backing plate?

Are they going to make a 4 inch backing plate for the supa beast? It would be nice to have some other options other than the one that comes on it. Thanks for the video!

I'm not sure about that? I agree it would be a great accessory. Have to wait and see. -Mike Phillips

My flex 3401 has the black wire with little gray one connected, all the ones I have seen online have the white connected with gray. Anyone else confused?

Is it normal to see some sparks inside the vents of the plastic housing where the brushes are located on an original Flex 3401 VRG?

@@frontenacdetailing9159 FLEX recommends the following for service in their manual - Have your power tool serviced by a qualified repair person using only identical replacement parts. Could the cordless XFE15-150 polisher be use for correction purposes ? I heard many people saying it’s only good for polishing /finishing
@autogeek
@autogeek 3 года назад
No, not really. Think about the name, The FINISHER It is for finishing work or light maintenance, not correction work and certainly not heavy correction work. -Mike Phillips

@@autogeek thank you for your reply but I have a good question , I don’t do paint correction for living but I want a high quality good tool , I don’t mind paying for rupees , but I wanted your thoughts if I get the Griots garage G8 , G9 , G15 as an Arsenal
@autogeek
@autogeek 3 года назад
@@ernestobenavides6716 - Both RUPES and Griot's make great tools, pads and products. To me, the real decision is to choose either gear-driver or free spinning. If you're not in a hurry, go with free spinning and the G9 is a great option. If you want to get a job done fast as possible, then go with the RUPES Mille or one of the BEASTS from FLEX. -Mike Phillips
