The crankshaft mark on my gxv140 Honda engine has been obliterated by wear. Believe me, I've been over it with a magnifying glass. Any ideas how to line it up with the cam mark?

So what you do is before you pull them out you want to mark them

If you're talking about putting new cam gears in the new gears will come with marks on them. You want to put those same marks where the old ones were so don't take the old one out until you get the new one

it's easier if you twist the camshaft into the crankshaft

Yes they all have alignment marks for the gears

I lined my dots up and it won’t start. It has spark and compression. Idk what I did wrong. It’s for my snowblower

Check and make sure the carburetors not dirty it may be just the carburetor. Take some ether or carburetor spray and spray it directly into the air intake right until the carburetor where the air filter goes and try to start it then if it starts the carburetor is dirty

The gear alignment being off a little bit won't stop it from starting it just won't run right and it could damage the motor

@@JOATD because I dropped something in the oil fill hole lol so I had to open it up lol
