Very clear easy to understand video on this subject. I've heard so much about Model T timers at club meetings from guys that like to hear themselves talk. But never understood them. At least now I know how to time one correctly.
Great video! Be aware that the locating pin hole on some later camshafts is drilled all the way through, so it is possible to install the timer roller 180 degrees off from its proper setting.
It is good practice to turn the two front oil pan bolts over so that their heads point up towards the timer. This increases the clearance between the bolts and the timer terminals and reduces the chance that one of the terminals will ground out on a bolt as the timer is moved by the timing lever.
Thanks for posting a new video. I have two model a's and I always enjoy watching your videos. My wife also enjoys viewing your videos. I am intrigued by the model T. What a GREAT CAR!
A quick question from a dummy. If I am replacing a roller timer with an identical unit, do I have to retime the engine. The new commutator and roller are identical to the one I am replacing. Great videos. Many thanks!
