Can you do a video how you would use the dry contact to auto start a generator that then uses a battery charger to charge the batteries?

Thank you for the video. I am finishing up my build with the Growat 12K with 2 48v lipo4 batteries I put together from Docan. I have the 9000 watt Dura Max inverter generator running on propane to power up the EG4 Chargeverter. My plan is to only run the 100 amp Chargeverter on the generator.

Thanks for the info, it didn't work when I manually switched the PV off but it did work in realtime when the PV dropped naturally

If I'm running two of these inverters in parallel split phase and I want to use the autostart, do I just use the dry contacts on the Master Unit and leave the second unit's dry contacts alone?

Tks for sharing! I am really interested to see it how it works in real. Specially, if the signal to auto start for generator goes before the inverter relay it switch to grid(to avoid black out).

Ideally you would want to set the actual cut off voltage far enough below the autostart voltage to avoid this problem. The only point where this would be tricky would be with very worn batteries or very high loads.

Do you have a video about wiring for the auto gen start and how to interface the generator with the growatt. I have a 24v growatt and a predator 3500 from Harbor Freight Thanks in advance

Apologies, no video for that yet. The connection itself is pretty simple. You will just be connecting the 2-wire start connection from the generator to the dry contact ports on the Growatt unit (assuming your genny has a 2-wire start). The dry contact port has a common (C) port where one wire needs to go to and 2 other ports, the normally closed and normally open ports. You connect the other wire into one of these depending on what your generator is compatible with, but it is usually the normally open port.

Hi there! We do not work with grid tied Growatt products, so we cannot advise on specifics. However, it is unlikely that these units can take generator inputs as they are designed to be grid tied only.

Your generator may not have a 2-wire auto start port. If this is the case then auto start is not going to be an option. Utility first is for a manual start system, so that the generator takes first priority when you turn it on. The SBU setting is for auto start, which allows you to set the battery voltage or battery % points that the generator will be signalled to turn on and off.
