hehe, recently I found that one of my older DJI Airunits is "partly" broken. took me some time to figure out. It shows an image, the cables and ports are correct, but I don't get OSD (or even the system volts). When replacing this airunit with another one (same software, same WTFOSD state) - it works ;) Solution: moved the malfunctioning Airunit to a copter where I can live without OSD ;) thanks for the nice vid, greets, Mario

Still cant get my osd to work. I am running the most recent release Inav 6.0.0 with DJI 03 air unit, goggle 2, matke h743 wlite fc and have tried both using the msp display port option with bf43compt and DJI FPV VTX options with no luck. Only thing differnt I see is when I use bf43compt in my goggles it allows me to use canvas mode in normal or hd, but still no OSD at all...

Awesome, I just went digital with HDzero. I’m building a 7” quad first then a ZHOD XL . Lucky I stumbled on this video. I’m finishing my second S800 with the auto launch in INAV . My question is with your sequence of tax switch assignments you mentioned no navigation modes can be on and in your demonstration you have manual mode on. Can I use acro or horizon mode? Instead of manual. Or with position hold on just switch from manual to acro and no worries.

Thanks for the video. You have confirmed my setup. I am using a Matek F405 Wing, updated to 7.x.x or what ever is the latest as of last week, 2/29/24. I was finding it difficult to locate any docs on the setup. I searched for a long time. Then I saw the wiring for the Matek 722, just followed that. I am using uart 5, so Rx-Tx, Tx-Rx, Right now, I am powering the Avatar off of the 4s battery connection, might be one problem, I will wire it up to the 9v pins this weekend. I started with no OSD displayed in the Fatshark Dominator goggles. So I updated to the latest as of 2/29/24. No love, nothing displayed, oh wait, what is that? I see the OSD, but it is what I would call static. I posted on the forums, read about the drop down menu in the OSD tab, clicked that, save, yes/no, NO! The reply got me thinking as he said he tried a different uart and his magically showed up. So I go back, change to uart 3, set to DisplayPort, save, reboot, Select Avatar from the drop down, save. Show up, no, still static. Put GPS back on uart 3, plug Avatar back into uart 5, OSD tab show AVATAR is selected. I go down the list of tabs, checking everything in the tab. I get to the modes tab, scroll way down, I see OSD "off mode is not configured. I set it so there is a channel selected, switch up, OSD on, switch down, OSD off. Save, check OSD tab, for giggles, save, check ports tab, all good, save reboot. OSD being displayed in the goggles, YES/NO, sort of. It is like it is being displayed on the wrong layer. I see it, but it is there, then gone, then there, then gone. I check connections, I wiggles the wires while looking in the goggles. Nope, randomly disappears, shows up. This will turn out to be a simple solution when I figure it out. The layout I see in the OSD is not how I see it in the goggles? They are in different spots from what is shown in the OSD tab. Next thing I will try is powering off the 9v pins. Could be direct power from the 4s lipo may be causing issues. I did have an over heating issue. I mounted a fan off an old ESC to the Avatar Tx. Now it does not shut down from over heating. I may try upping the voltage. I am using the 3.3v pins, I will try the 5v pins and see if a higher fan speeds helps. This weekend I will try another Matek F045 wing I have. See if I can get it working there. If it is working, that would mean something with the board, if it is the same, then it is me. I also have a Matek F411, I may try that one too. Thanks. Buzz.

Hi Darren can you explain why the buzzer keeps beeping when I connect to inav configurator. If I connect the flight battery the beeping stops.

I dont know what uart the 03 unit goes on. I have picture in my goggles 2 but no OSD could you please help me with this problem also im using INAV 7.0. Thank you Art

Thanks for the great video. I just upgraded from inav4.1 to 6 using my matek f722 wing board and analog video system but my osd icons and measuring units r all crapped up. Home position shows battery icon. Km/h shows ft/s and all icons r messed up with wrong parameters. Can u help plz

Great video.. BUT i got a head-scratcher for you. I have a caddx Vista polar air unit... I followed your instructions and now when everything starts up I can see the inav 6.1 splash screen show up in front of the fpv view in the goggles like the OSD is going to work but then the splash goes away and no osd comes up..??? I have system voltage picture looks good the mb per second go up when I armed it... Just no osd 😢😢 Any help would be greatly appreciated Oh, and I'm using the new dji goggles integra.... Thinking that might be the problem....

Thanks for the great content. When I use the O3 system and I only have two UARTS ( F11-WTE) can I Use UART2 pins for the OSD and SBUS together if both are coming from the air unit?

Thanks to you, my DJI 03 is now working with OSD with Speedybee f405 wing, INAV 6 and DJI goggles V2, but the OSD is not recorded...so if you loose the plane, you can't view the last GPS coordinates?

So I have inav 6.01 and when I set up osd in inav and move things around in inav all looks great untill it goes to my 7inch screen when I plug in battery and get ready to fly. Seems to move things on top of things and all over the screen.Its useless. what am I doing wrong??? thanks in advance.

Hi Darren - great stuff as always - but here's a stumper. I have a Frsky X20HD trying to run a Freestyle VTX with INAV 6.0 - I unlocked it and flashed with the most current FW and changed the port as you show. I got video and OSD immediately on the X20 screen, then cycled through the screens just for kicks and OSD disappeared (video stays) never to return! I have reflashed everything, including INAV, rechecked connections, tried different UARTS (I'm running a Matek 405) and even bought a new Freestyle VTX (I'm desperate obviously), but no change. There is a little two prong port on the side of the X20HD screen that the manual says can be used "for emergency flashing of the VRX", but there is no information anywhere on how this works. I am about ready to buy a HDZero VRX for my goggles, but the whole point of the X20HD is to use it as the VRX, so this is completely giving up - and like you, I don't like doing that. Any ideas?

Hi Darren, Im setting up a 2nd wing with Inav and the OSD is not showing. The first wing is all good to go but i have the Vista on that one. I have a confirmed hacked DJI Original Air unit (2nd wing) and loaded with the MSP and 1200 mw package. Before i rooted the Air unit i downloaded to the 0606 DJI firmware. That all came thru and i did this setup as per you video and no OSD is showing in my googles. At first the "Waiting for OSD" was showing and now thats not showing anymore. I flipped back and forth with the INAV set up on ports tab and no changes at all. Im not sure what im missing. I dont have an SD card in my air unit and not sure if that contributes to the issue (no spare sd card at the moment).

I use inav 7, and a vtx ovx306, when I select power for example to level 3 the vtx remains at level 1. This means the vtx is always at the lowest power. Can you help with this problem? Thank You

I have selfbuild plane, and it was pain in the ass to build, it has matek f411 wte, and its only 2 uarts available, but i found that its possible to use softserial for osd walksnail, what do you think it will work, or i need to buy f405 flight controller, thank you in advance)

I have the Matek F-405 FC. When I updated the firmware from 4.1 to the 6.1 I had these show up in the CLI as errors. Do I just change the values, or remove this from the program? set imu_acc_ignore_rate = 9 set imu_acc_ignore_slope = 5

with hdzero and inav 7 using msp displayport (no more smartaudio) the vtx setting shows only 3 power level instead of 4. is this setting still being used instead of msp displayport (changing channel from goggles)?

I recently purchased a frsky x18s. I have been devouring your ethos videos. Alas I may be even more in the soup. I have a very simple glider, rudder elevator and one center spoiler. But it’s a vtail. I have sort of figured out with your videos that I should use flaperons like a flying wing as opposed to a vtail….I think. The biggest issue is that I have lived in the JR and Spektrum world for many years. I have looked everywhere for a tutorial on how to use ethos to set this up. I want to have rudder and elevator on the right stick and spoiler on the throttle stick. Can you suggest some help or a video? I have an archer gr6 receiver. This is a F3res glider so there is no motor. Thank you for your time.

Can I select the setting 'MSP Display Port' in any line I want ? I use a SpeedyBee F711 V3 flightcontroller and the RX and TX connection (for the VTX) is marked with R1 a T1 so should I set 'MSP Display Port' in the "UART1 - Line" or does it matter ? (In my case it doesnt show a UART5 - Line just got 1,2,3,4,6 . .... 2 and 4 are already in use)

Im having issues with my avatar vtx. OSD is being displayed fine i just have no camera feed. .6mbps bitrate. Im not aure whats going on. Also slow green flash on vtx indicates a camera fault issue? Brand new vtx however i accidently ripped a solder pad off so im using the connector

Hi Darrel. I just received a HDZero Freestyle with the Keypad board for changing frequencies. My intentions are to use INAV with my FrSky TANDEM x20HD TX that has video capabilities . I have followed your instructions for INAV set up. The system is somehow working since I can see a crispy beautiful HD transmission, but I cannot see any number or data from the OSD and the keypad is not energized , since I cannot see the channel. I am probably missing something, can you help me with some advice . Thanks Salvador

I did the set up that you used for wtf and goggles v2. It didn't work for me. When I boot the goggles for connection to my Caddx Vista, I don't get the osd as set up in Inav 6.1. I get a message in the lower right hand corner that says something about font.bin. I have the 4 Inav HD fonts installed on the root of the sd card of the googles. My goggles and the vista have been rooted, Wtfos installed and the msp piece is also installed. Help!

Hi, im using a matek f405std with inav 7, and o3. I have a problem with the osd, It doesn't work and I've already tried changing the settings several times, but the way you say it doesn't show up either.

I need help. I just got a walksnail VTX & VRX and have FW updated, with sneaky_fpv fonts loaded, I have video feed (I can see) it shows walksnail OSD, Not Inav OSD. Watched this and other videos and it's not working.

I'm running INAV 7.1 which is supposed to support DJI o3. While I do get OSD, I find that the elements are not located anywhere near what they are shown in the planner. Hence I find it not usable at all.

we dont set up vtx tables in Inav? is the only way to set vtx tables or channel and band is through CLI commands?

Thanks Darren, excellently clear as always but you did not mention the preview guides option. I'm interested in the comment it pops up that if you keep within the red boundary the refresh rate is quicker, how does this work? I'm interested 'cos using the HDzero VRX the horizon and home pint arrows are sluggish, I'm told that's a slow processor in the VRX and nothing can be done about it. What's your take on this? I am unable to get OSD to work. I have Goggle 2, with Inav 6.0 installed on Iflight Beast F722. The UART is wired correctly.; for port, it is set to DJI FPV VTX. The only option available for video format is AUTO, PAL and NTSC. Is this working for anyone else?

I loaded 6.rc1 with my avatar setup. But the ahi is off to the right and I can't drag the ahi around I can drag everything else like normal. Tried a fresh install same issue. Anyone else report anything like this? I can post video on the fixed wing group so you can see what I'm talking about
