really appreciate people like you who come online and do the lords work. i was stumped for twenty minutes cause the instructions suck and this really helped. thank you
I just want to say thank you. I literally got off the phone with tech support and they said I needed a network clean up. I obviously declined the service. I stumbled on this video and I was able to connect with ease. Thank you so much. Off topic a little, but I was wondering should you change your password after a screen share? I’ve always been reluctant to do that. I did have to type my Wi-Fi pw because the tech was helping me.
Thanks. The instructions weren't very clear and I couldn't get it to work on my phone so I had to pull out our old laptop and that worked nicely. Now connected to the extender. 👍
@@gotyournose1001if you have a computer do what he says in this vid and under Wi-Fi connect to Netgear. I then went into Google Chrome and typed in the website he mentioned. Took me directly to the Netgear genie set up and the process was fairly simple after that. I don't know why it wouldn't work on my phone but a computer worked nice.
I have a router that is Ethernet and desktop. I don't see wifi or router in my desktop settings. I do have wifi in my home for phones and such. Can I still hook up this extender?
I have two questions. Where do I place the extender because upstairs and further downstairs we have a bad connection that’s why we need an extender o. So I place the extender in the those areas? Also, do I now connect my wifi deceives to the extender and not the router right? Sorry if those sound dumb or common sense but I’m not to literate when it comes to these devices. Oh yea can this all be setup on a phone or do I need my computer to set up? I had one years ago but it require me to have it plugged into my pic.
We got the extender because we went to Hulu, Netflix. I did a speed test after the install. My ping is 10 download 24.9 jitter 13 12 upload is 11.2..on my laptop. What do I do? thank you. The TV still buffers every once in awhile.
My NETGEAR_EXT does not show up as an option to connect in my wifi selection. I just moved house and it was working fine at the old place. Now it does not show up? Could it be named under another name
Great video, first i had some issues with it saying "no internet" then i left it for 3 minutes and i followed instructions and worked amazing. You are a lifesaver🐐
@@R1zlathe person who made this video keeps deleting the ppl who are having this issue. The wifi extender isn’t a piece of junk, the person who made this video and keeps deleting comments is 🙄
I reset my extender because the wifi was running slow but now when i plug it back into the wall only the “power”and “device” indicators are green instead of all 4 any way I can get this fixed?
After about 2 hours of troubleshooting, reading through the comments and a mental breakdown later...I read a comment saying if you have Spectrum it will not work. I believe that was the case and I was going to return it. However, I was having issues with setting it up with my iPhone and my dads Google Pixel I couldn't get access to the site. I decided to tried it on a computer and had a few issues, but it was user errors, but I was able to get it set up using the provided website on a computer web browser. So, if you don't have a WPS button on your router or having issues setting it up with a SmartPhone/Tablet/iPad try a computer. That's what worked for me. I hope this was helpful to anyone who has been experiencing the same issues I have. I'm most likely going to return it because if your home has thicker walls it seems that this device does not work well.
Ain't that a b¡tch! Spectrum wants their customers to steadily pump money into their system. By having to RENT their equipment vs buying and using it until the wheels fall off. Living in the desert, the connection is horrible!
I need help. I have T-Mobile WiFi for my PC (w/a router). They are different of course (Netgear/T-Mobile). I have no idea how to move forward from here. Do you have a video for people in my situation?
No internet signal so I cannot even see the “new extender setup” page…. Cause there’s….. no internet…… cause it’s not setup yet, I think you may have switched on another WiFi network to get this to work
@@LeoH110 Idk if ur still having the prob is so, when u connect to the extender, click properties, then got to IPV4 DNS it should say, copy that and then paste the IP into the chrome, it should take it u to the place
Figured out problem. Use a tablet not a phone or computer. Tried all methods, after some grey hair and hair loss I tried my son's tablet that doesn't have an internet connection only wifi and it connected instantly like video...hope this helps.
Hi I reset my extender and tried to set it up again but the website, mywifiext, won't allow me to start the process again. It just keeps saying that my extender is not connected to the router . . . Can you help, please?
Just spent $50 and can’t get this thing to work it got all the way to the end and I went to connect and it’s not working at all I have both of the wifi networks coming from the extender but they aren’t working and I can’t get them to work
Great video. Thanks. Is the network that you were extending with the AC750 the WiFi on the router that is connected directly to the internet (residential gatway) or were you extending the Wifi from a device (Extender) that was already extending your Wifi from your residential gateway?
Folks, If you keep getting an error message about your internet connection, try a different browser (try Chrome, if you’re using Safari). Worked for me.
Great video! You obviously know your stuff. But despite your very clear & personable instructions (and seeing that it works on your screen), here on my end i still CANNOT get past that _"This site can't be reached"_ page. I can never get to the Setup page. I'm using Windows 10, and Google Chrome. I've heard someone say you need an extra laptop (which i have but don't know how to use in this regard). Any suggestions would be extremely appreciated. Blessings! :D
First, I thank you for your kind message! I greatly appreciate it! Now, about the issue, Are you connected to your wifi extender as the source? You connect to it first. Then type in that address in the url. I prefer to use a tablet to do that, but you might be able to use a laptop.
Same here will not let me type in that page don't understand this at all very frustrating and can't get past don't understand how it should even work like since no wifi how is a page going to load
so l'm baffled. my extender and android reset and nothing works. l got a new extender but no good. l use the router password to get the android into the router.l l have 4 steady green lights on the extender but the router passwod doesn't get me into the extender. l have no idea what to try next.
Wtf ... I commented the solution but it keeps deleting my comment. But how I found the address, I went to netgears website and they have the number looking web address there
For those who are having trouble: I had to alter my router’s WPS connection (it doesn’t have a button on the side of the router to signal it). Steps: 1. Go to the IP address listed on your router (type this in as a URL in your browser). This will bring up more tools for your router. If you click anything or have a prompt, usually the username is “admin” in all lowercase and the password will also be on the router somewhere below where you got the IP. 2. Make sure the WPS option is on. 3. If it is on there may be an option to press a “virtual” WPS button. This will help establish a connection. Click this and make sure the NetGear is reset so it can find the router. 4. You should be able to connect to it now like the instructions say. You’ll see a WiFi connection with the same name as your route but with 2 or 5EXTG on the end. The password is the same as your WiFi’s.
