NETGEAR WiFi Extender setup, How to, is a dual band WiFi repeater & WiFi extender made by NETGEAR. You will see how to install/Setup NETGEAR WiFi Extender AC1200 (EX6110) WiFi Range Extender plus WiFi Repeater setup. It's a great and inexpensive solution to eliminating wifi dead spots or WiFi dead zones in any home or business building.

It's really easy to see how to setup Netgear wifi extender in my video tutorial. Some videos don't show you everything in there video on how to setup Netgear wifi extender ac1200, but mine does. However, keep in mind that is not a Netgear wifi extender review of the AC1200 EX6110. The video only show how to perform a Netgear wifi extender setup and install. With a little Netgear wifi repeater unboxing thrown it just for good luck. So to speak!

me personally all i had to do was plug it into the wall near my router, press the wps on my device and router, then move the device to the place where i needed wifi. connected my phone and chromecast after that, it literally took two minutes to set up. i see a lot of ppl complaining it doesn’t work and i think that’s bc they’re running too much bandwidth off the extender. i personally just use my phone and a chromecast in my garage so this device works perfectly for that

Suggest: reset extender and go back through the setup again. Make sure you are using your correct WiFi password when prompted during setup.

Thank you for a very coherent, thorough and helpful tutorial on setting up this device. Much more lucid than the information in the box. One detail that I had to figure out on my own. I got the idea that all four of the LEDs on top of the unit had to be lit for it to be functioning. The power, router and WPS lights are on all the time, once the unit is programmed. The Device light is only lit when there is a device connected to the extended WIFI signal. Maybe you mentioned that and I missed it? Anyway, thanks again for a fine video.

I just bought this today and it was so quick and easy to setup. I was worried whether to grab D-link or Netgear but I chose Netgear based on numerous positive reviews on retail sites. It's working smoothly! It was able to give me the coverage I need for a good price. Good alternative other than getting another router which is a common mistake for consumers. 5/5

This was great video, very informative and step by step on how to do this. When mine had a problem getting the setup page on the computer to come up, that was the only problem I ran into. It wouldn't load up the setup web page even using the website he said but I realized it would not work on my desktop that was hooked to the router via ethernet and that was how we installed our router originally. So I had to get my laptop and get on the wifi of the extender on the laptop. Then It launched the setup website like he said and everything went smoothly from there.

Justin Hughes so it makes my signal strength slightly faster and is good for streaming etc. It just isn’t the best for gaming as my ping will jump from 30(which is ok) to over 300(which is AWFUL) and causes the game to Lag all the time. So if it’s only for streaming I would recommend. Gaming I wouldn’t ha.

Thanks for the video. I'm a MacBook Air user, and the one thing that I had to find out the hard way was that Safari didn't work, so I changed browser (in my case Google Chrome) and the prompts popped up straight away... so take note Apple Users!

Normally you might get that response when the extender is not configure correctly and needs to be reconfigured: 1) You most likely will need to perform a repeater reset by using the RESET button (press and hold for a REAL 12-14 seconds) while it's plugged into a wall outlet and power is on, then release the RESET button and go through the setup steps again as shown in my video. 2) Move the extender closer to your wifi router/modem. 3) Also when setting it up, it's important to double check that you are using the correct wifi password to connect to your router/modem with the Extender during set up or you will not be able to make a connection to your new WiFi Extender or have no Internet connection. Those with Xfinity, this device works great. The modem is mounted in a mobile home at the end bedroom. The opposite bedroom had a weak signal. After installing this device, good signal is throughout the trailer. The extender is mounted in the kitchen dining area. We have a cat. I wanted something without antennas. She would paw at them having to reorient them otherwise. 👍

@@nickscomputerfix I didn't see it until today. Occasionally the device light toggles from green to red. There's only one device on the extender. The tablet was turned off sitting on the table. Even though it's off it goes green at times. Restarted the tablet & it went green. Never had ever seen it go yellow. Is this normal?

I just got mine but for some reason I don't get the wifi result for NETGEAR_EXT and instead there are two results, one called Royal-5G_5GEXT and Royal_2GEXT and they are both password protected and no where in the box does it have a password for these, so I'm stuck, I don't know what to do

Extender location is the primary key to getting the best signal quality and most distance out of any extender. You might experience interference problems, for example: thick walls or floors, other electronic equipment or extender might be to far away from router...etc. Test until you find the best sweet spot somewhere mid way between your Primary Router and your Wifi device connecting to the extender. This will give you the best consistently solid signal quality from the extender.

How do I get to the site that sets it up? Because I plug it in I connect to it and then I try to go to the site. it says I have no Internet connection because the device itself doesn't have its own internet connection. Once this extender setup has been completed, that old temporary setup IP network/URL address/link is deleted. This is why you can not get back into the setup page/site. In order to get back into setup again, after a setup or switching wifi routers/modems or ISP, you will need to perform a repeater reset by using the RESET button (press and hold for a REAL 12-14 seconds) while it's plugged into a wall outlet and power is on, then release the RESET button and go through the setup steps again as shown in my video. Also make sure you are using your correct wifi password to connect the extender to your wifi router/modem.

You most likely will need to perform a repeater reset again by using the RESET button (press and hold for a real 12-14 seconds) while it's plugged into a wall outlet and power is on, then release the RESET button and go through the setup steps again as shown in my video. Also try moving your Extender a little closer to your wifi router too. Then you can move it to a new location after setup is completed.

Thank you for the video, but I am still having trouble. My extender is connected to my internet and WPS, but for some reason it won't let my device connect to it. What do I do?

You most likely will need to perform a repeater reset by using the RESET button (press and hold for a REAL 12-14 seconds) while it's plugged into a wall outlet and power is on, then release the RESET button and go through the setup steps again as shown in my video. Also when setting it up double check that you are using the correct wifi password to connect to your router with the Extender during set up.

It was way to weak for what I needed it for , I needed to run a extender that was in a caravan 30 meters away from the router which is in a house, ended up getting a netgear ax1800 ,and it works amazing,

Thanks for the video It was very helpful when setting up a while back, need help it’s been a couple of months and it’s worked great! Last night it wasn’t working and now I only have the wpa and power lights on green. 😢

Try resetting it and moving it closer to your wifi router.

i've been using this extender for a couple of months now and it doesnt have any connectivity issues, but i would like to know why does it keep resetting itself each time after a power outage. Is there something we could do to fix it?

Never had that issue with it. You might try using a surge protector and see if that helps.

You are awesome! This video was most helpful so I thank you. Quick question: You did this on your computer, but can I also do this on my iPad? My work computer is downstairs where I have excellent signal 300 mbps. My signal is weak upstairs when using my iPad and Smart TV.

Yes you can! But during the setup it's best to have a strong signal and have the Extender close to your primary router/modem. After setup you can move it to a new location.
