Thumbs up! Quick question. Do you EQ your 2 track instrumentals when you import it into Pro Tools to record vocals? Thanks
@goobstersroom
@goobstersroom 7 месяцев назад
Sometimes but it really depends on the beat. 2track processing is a whole separate topic that I’m going to most definitely make a video on in the future

Everything great, but I noticed nobody's talking about one big studio home issue, and exactly to be is the ground looping, when more than one gear connected to the PC. Since the day one I've got my KRK Studio monitors I had some noise, mainly comming from PC when moving the mouse around, the only that helped was removing the grounding and after I decided to ground them back and use a small device to break the ground loop. The next issue was my Apollo interface, same problem, but this time also capturing the same noise when my Manley Ref C is turned on. So much a**pain...
@goobstersroom
@goobstersroom 7 месяцев назад
Have you tried using a furman to connect clean power to all your stuff? All of my gear is directly plugged into furman devices I have 3 in my studio and I do not capture any noise at all
@eddwardmusic
@eddwardmusic 7 месяцев назад
@@goobstersroom What devices exactly? I have my KRK monitors, Manley Ref C mic and Apollo Twin and sure my PC. Unfortunately when all connected to my PC I get noise in all the equipment, coming from PC. My KRK are connected via XLR Y-type to 3,5mm jack to PC and Apollo through USB to PC and my Manley to Apollo via XLR.
@goobstersroom
@goobstersroom 7 месяцев назад
@@eddwardmusic I use the, Furman PST 8 | amzn.to/3T5P5Hd Furman SS-6B-PRO | amzn.to/4ab0RX9 Furman M-8Dx Merit Series | amzn.to/46vlnyw These all provide clean power to my gear in the studio and help eliminate noise and interference dropping the overall noise floor. I plug in everything into these Furmans for the reason of suppressing any additional noise the gear may create (My PC, Speakers, Preamps, Compressors, Interface, Microphone power supply (which your Manley should have)). But you must plug these Furmans into a 3 prong outlet to use them as intended. Usually all 3 prong outlets are already grounded but if you're in an older home, or are not sure then you can go to home depot and get an outlet tester to check from there. If for whatever reason the plug you're plugging all your gear too isn't wired properly and it still has a 3 prong outlet then it will come out on the outlet tester. To fix that you will need to purchase a grounding plug from home depot and rewire that plug properly but that's beyond my expertise. What I would do is buy the outlet tester and make sure my wall outlets are properly grounded. And if they are grounded then I'll go ahead and then purchase the Furmans plug every piece of gear you're using into there and it should take away your issue. You must also keep in mind that analog gear specifically is almost always going to generate some sort of noise, that's just how these units operate no analog unit will be completely noise free unless it's a digital analog unit. But the only piece of gear that you have that I see generating some sort of noise would be the Manley Mic since it's a tube microphone but shouldn't be anything dramatic and still useable as intended. Hope that helps
@eddwardmusic
@eddwardmusic 7 месяцев назад
@@goobstersroom Oh man, thanks for the links and a full describtion of the issue. Yes, I already checked the outlet and it's grounded, even tho the home is pretty old. I tried Black Lion Audio PG-P Type F (european outlet) and unfortunately it didn't make any difference. The noise from my studio monitors tho went different, but still there. At least I found a solution to remove the noise from my Apollo, I purchased iFi Audio SilentPower GND Defender and plugged into my PC's PSU and the noise is gone from the Apollo and Manley, but the noise from my KRK are still there. I guess the main issue is my cable connecting KRKs to PC (XLR Y-type to 3,5mm jack), sure if I'd connect it directly via XLR each studio monitor to Apollo the noise would've gone, but I don't really want to turn on/off Apollo each time, just for watching youtube or stuff. Anyway I will give a shoutout to Furmans. Thx once again mate!

@@eddwardmusic yeah that 3.5mm might be doing it because I just leave my interface on and connect all my speakers via trs to xlr and i never get any nasty noise out of them. That may be the other fix too if you don't plan on moving your apollo around and always leaving it on

The Higher end ones are. The budget ones not really. But if you want a workhorse laptop that can do it all check out this laptop I did a review on, It's currently what I do all my mobile sessions and video editing on currently and it handles everything like a charm! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-KxrHMgKnLjA.htmlsi=-7hKv3f2mtbR2Kr0

You're just recommending gears which are not even affordable for a beginner or for someone who wants to record vocals and instruments only for passion and posting covers. These covers are way expensive from that POV. Please help with more budget segment gears please
@goobstersroom
@goobstersroom 26 дней назад
I disagree 👎. I made sure to put budget, medium level, AND higher quality gear (I literally split the gear into Tiers). This video is meant for all different budget types this isn't a "build a studio as cheap as possible video" some beginners may have a bigger bankroll. I'm simply letting people explore their options with stuff I've tested and recommend both cheap AND expensive! But depending on where you are in the world that may effect the price of what you could afford too, since I'm in California, a $124 Microphone is still considered budget and cheap compared to higher end products on the market... Whoever's watching just has to do the math, see how much they can afford to spend on a studio, and go from there. Even if I made a separate budget video all the gear I'd recommend is still in this video (Budget Tier)...
