Hi. Same here, I have an M1 Max and have problems with that but my M1 iPad works perfectly. Elgato were saying that they were waiting for Apple to update MacOS before they could do a firmware update for the 4K X. Well Apple released the 14.4 update to MacOS earlier this week, so hopefully Elgato will pull their finger out and sort out the update. Have you updated to MacOS 14.4? If not, maybe do the update and see if your 4K X reacts any differently. Cheers, Dave.
Great video, so the capture is fenomenal but how about actually using the iPad as the monitor I always see people talking abt the capture and recording but not actually how it feels and performs on the actual iPad itself, like for example I dont even own an iPad or an elgato but I am interested. I know the iPad is not meant to be used like that primarilly but if I wanted to how is it, does it actually output 120hz and hdr with the games on Ps5? And what about latency?
Hi Mica. The preview is only in 60FPS. While the latency is low, it's definitely not low enough for monitoring and playing the likes of FPS games etc. I definitely would not recommend getting an iPad for monitoring or game recoding with the Elgato or any other HDMI input device, there are way better options on Windows/PC that would be cheaper. However, for anyone who already has an iPad Pro, then this is a good solution when it works, my Elgato 4K X does not currently work with my iPad, after I updated the Elgato software. Cheers, Dave.
Hey, by any chance do you know if this works with the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra? I really want to record Xbox Series X gameplay to my tablet but don’t want to buy the capture card without knowing.
