This video was made per request. I get a few people asking how to connect a dj system or speakers to subwoofers, to mixer etc. hope this helps and to any beginners hope this kind of makes it clearer
Fantastic, thanks for posting! In other videos I felt like I was learning more from people in the comments than the person in the video. You on the other hand, are a big help :)
i was a little confused because your right is our left ... but hey it didnt take long for me to adjust hahaha ... good stuff brother i was having a hard time trying to hook up my subs to my system and top speakers ... thanx heaps

I got two Samson Expedition old speakers need to do a small halloween party 150 ppl any recommendations for setup. Need the bass to hit hard. One subwoofer or two for small budget. I have the Rane one what wires would I need??
@@DjJoeyPinaDJ Thank you for your reply. But you have input also on 0 (unity) ? I have behringer xenyx x1204. So I can leave them 0 and 0 the whole time and just control them by master volume on PA mixer?
Hello I have a question about speaker height in a small party. Let's say it is only a family's gathering of 10 to 25 people tops in small backyard party. Do you actually need to set the speakers at 7 to 9 feet in height , knowing that there is no audience way in the back and all guess are just withing 10 to 15 feets of the music . Can I lower the height so I don't have to increase so much amp power on the speakers or what is the
Do u have a video showing how to adjust levels on powered speakers and mixer and or controller. I have 2 12's EV and a behringer mixer. Using my laptop with VDJ Program..I keep getting feedback in speakers from Shure wireless mics
Sir i have a question, if i link from my sub has built in high and low pass filter x-over, which one should i choose when i connect it from subwoofer to top speaker. Thanks!
Hi, great vid I just have a question what’s the point of a separate pa mixer? I see mixers have mic inputs as well as xlr. I see some djs haul these huge vcr looking mixers with a bunch of knobs? Why can’t they just plug straight from mixer to system??
Great question Most controllers don’t have great mic sound output and typically the sound out of the controllers comes out too hot. With a speaker pa mixer you can control your mic and music volume to sound nicer
That will help me to set up my PA speakers in one of the clubs in my city. I will make light show with special Federal Signal lightbar for police car. I will set it on the table next to the computer. I will set up the other DJ lights in other places in the club. Thanks me later :)
I'm just starting with DJ'ing - A little too old perhaps but I got to find a hobby - I always wanted to play music in small venues and did it way back in the 80's/90's - Didn't have the technology on hand like today but managed to get by - Now, retired - just want to play music for fun and at friends and family events - I'm a little rusty to being - This is what I have so far purchased and hoping you can help me along with the setup and requirements need to setup my Dj system - Hardware - Laptop / ThinkPad T440 or and MACBOOK late model - can upgrade later when I get the hang of this DJ'ing DJ Controllers - Hercules DJ Console/Controller MK4 2 Channels Microphones Speakers - Mission Stereo Speakers with wires no power speakers - Will get a proper speakers later on if the non-powered speaker with wires don't cut it - Don't have an amp - don't know if I need one to connect my speakers to my controllers Like I said I'm completely a green starter - Looking for some advise, setup , support - much appreciate for your input and honest opinion PLEASE!! Best regards Matteo Manfredi
Not sure which program the controller uses, maybe virtual DJ software, I would recommend a small PA mixer to connect your controller to it and an amp to power your speakers Start up* Controller to mixer, mixer to amp, amp to speakers
@@DjJoeyPinaDJ Thanks for your quick response and suggestion - I do have Virtual DJ Software installed - I have a Soundcraft audio mixer and Hercules DJ console If I want to use the Mission stereo speakers (wired) - I would need an Amp - Question is - what type of cables would I need for these connections ? Thanks in advance - Perhaps I would be better off getting some powered speakers so I wouldn't need an amp perhaps .
Trying to get started doing weddings and looking for an entry level system. Something to get me by under $300. Is it worth it to invest in a low end system for small-medium sized weddings or just rent equipment in your opinion? I already have the other equipment needed! Thanks!
Weddings are a big day for brides, grooms and family and their friends If you get a low end system it may or may not let you down at an event or it may not sound good or last long Clients will notice the quality of the sound of its low end they may not refer you future clients to make your business grow My advice is rent a better system and do a great job at your wedding gigs till you can buy a decent system. Good luck
My question is what do u need to power a sub? I know nothing about djs. Do you need a amp for it or does the sub come with a amp if so do u need like rca’s. I honestly have no idea sorry...
Can u tell me, if I have 15" speakers, can I connect 15" subwwofer or I need to conect 18"? Because I bought 15" subwoofers and speakers, or it doesn't matter..
Congrats on your purchase Having a subwoofer helps. It all depends on which tops and which subs Some tops are not to loud enough to keep up with subs and vise bersa
I have a quick question someone told me to set it up from the controller to the tops and out from the tops into the input of the sub. Is this also correct?
@@DjJoeyPinaDJ Can you explain why it is important to use an external mixer as supposed to not using one in this setup where someone connects directly to the top and down to the bottom - thanks
I did the same hook up for some reason I'm having trouble i get sound coming out of 1 side and the other side very low sound and the microphone I get sound only from 1side why is that I can't figure out please help
My best recommendation is to get a small PA mixer. And connect your controller from RCA’s to quarter in to the pa mixer Another option which is not the best but for now would be to get RCA to XLR cables
DjJoey Pina do you have the model number of these poles they look real clean with the setup I just bought 2 ek18sp couple days ago got this exact setup. Thanks a lot for the reply
Question please. Do yoy uses a single power wall outlet for your set up or do you used more than one. I have this set up u have but 3 extra monitors also
@@DjJoeyPinaDJ we playvat a gig last time but they had a jumper, another dj system and bunch of lights because there was a boxing event and our equipment didn't had that much volume at all and our monitors were very low volumes
