In this video we will show you how to set up the Hydro MPC CU 352 control for a hydronic application. We will do this by using two sensors - one mounted on each of the suction and discharge manifolds - using analog inputs. The goal is to make the proportional pressure influence active in the system.
System Setup
• The system is currently set to constant pressure control mode (factory default).
• We'll switch the control mode to differential pressure and configure the sensors accordingly.
Steps:
1. Change Control Mode:
- Navigate to "Settings" - "Aerotek Primary Controller" - "OK".
- Select "Primary Sensor" - "Differential Pressure Pump" - "OK".
- This changes the system from pressure boosting to differential pressure control.
2. Configure Sensors:
- We'll clear an existing system alarm later in the video.
- Go to "Settings" - "Analog Input" - "OK".
- Change "Sensor 1" settings:
- Select "Measure Input Value".
- Choose "Differential Pressure Pump High" for measurement.
- Set the sensor range according to your specific sensors (consult the manual for details).
- Repeat the process for "Sensor 2" using "Differential Pressure Pump Low" for measurement.
3. Enable Proportional Differential Pressure Control:
- Go back to "Settings".
- Select "Proportional Pressure" - "OK".
- Enable proportional pressure control.
- Leave "Adaptation" set to "Squared".
- Adjust "Influence at Zero Flow" to 50% (you can adjust this value based on your needs).
- Verify "Max Flow Rate at QP Max" uses the existing pump curves.
4. Disable Unnecessary Functions:
- The current alarm indicates "water shortage." This is because the system hasn't started yet.
- Disable the stop function: "Settings" - "Secondary Functions" - "OK".
- Select "Stop Function" - "OK" (currently enabled) to disable it.
- You can watch a separate video on how to set up dry running protection (optional).
- Go to "Operations".g Protection" - "OK" and choose "Disabled".ctions" - "OK".
- Select "Dry Running Protection" - "OK" and choose "Disabled".
5. Set System Setpoint:
- Go to "Operations".
- Use the "+" button to increase the setpoint to your desired value (e.g., 15 PSI).
- Use the "+" button to increase the setpoint to your desired value (e.g., 15 PSI).
- Select "Normal" to initiate system operation.
6. Start the System:
- Select "Normal" to initiate system operation.
- Go back to the home screen.
Confirmation:
• The system should now display "Proportional Pressure Influence Active".
