Hey there again TorqHeads. In this video I am walking everyone through the Toyota Remote Connect services activation process. I hope you guys like it and this helps you guys out.

Hi , thank you for this tutorial. I have a RAV 4 Prime SE 2022. On my app i just have odometer snd tire pressure. No engine start/stop or anything else. Do this model donot have these features or am i missing something?

I think the Prime should. I would check with you dealership and make sure. It may be something they need to activate when you purchased it.

For that model and trim you more than likely need to go in the app under account and subscribe to the extra services. If you can't find that there you may be able call Toyota Connect directly and have it added.

Hey Kevin the LE may not have that option. You can reach out to a local dealer and let them look up your VIN and make sure.

In my truck when I press APPS it doesn’t show anything on the screen. Please help if you can.

When you first hit apps you will need to enable the downloads from your phone connections to the head unit. It will update the current apps that are enabled on your truck and then you will see the options needed. For the videos sake I had already done that step.

@TorqWorks I contacted remote conmect but they said I should have mentioned that to be included before building the car! Is it okay and safe for car, if I install a 3rd party remote start like from car toys or any other places?

They have been installing those for years. I don't think there is anything wrong with one of those systems if professionally installed.

Toyota is doing this through their app with packages and a Subscription service. You may need to see your local dealer for your exact vehicle and what options it has available to you.

Does this app work for the 22 4Runner? It doesn’t show the start engine or lock button I just see fuel and tire psi .

It does BUT you have the feature available. It doesn't work on all trims. They got tricky and started a plan based system to allow the feature so they charge you over time. All cars are moving to this. Its nuts.

You need to call Toyota remote connect and subscribe for a i think $9 a month subscription to have the option

You may be right, it was $8 and they keep messing with it. It is a Subscription style service now. Just last year you would get 1-3 years depending on the services to use as a trial period. That all may have changed by now.

I get an “network unavailable” error every time I try to enter the remote access authorization app on my 2022 Highlander. Anybody same issues?

I got my 22 camry in March and just tried to activate this remote service trail and im getting the same damn "network unavailable" message when I try to enter the verification code they email me. Has anyone figured this out I have an android phone

new subscriber to your channel, a doubt I did all these steps in the video, so my remote authorize on the screen of my car is inactive, I received the codes via email from toyota when I did the setup on the phone what should I do now?

The first time I did this the codes didn't come in time and it messed up my activation. I had to call the customer service line. Once you have the activation code they send to you go back on the screen for activation and you will verify and put that in on your infotainment unit. I had to start over from the beginning once before so that may be an option for you too.

@@TorqWorks thank you very much for answering, I took my car to the toyota dealer, I bought it less than a month ago with 18k miles, and the previous owner had installed a remote stared aftermarket, blocking the operation of the remote conect,after they found aftermarket remote start ,uninstall and install remote stared original car working perfectly, after I ask for DCM firmware update

@@TorqWorks yes i did delete the car on the app and re subscribe/re connect the my car, and be careful what you clicking in the app to subscribe it will affect it..

Thats a good point. I know they through a lot up on the screen quick so you have to be careful.

Some autos are not preinstalled with these features. It sounds like yours may not be. I would get your VIN number from your dash, the sticker on the metal part of your door when you open the driver side, or on your insurance paperwork and call your local Toyota dealer to ask them to make sure. Some features may be added by them after the fact.

Did they ever send you a code via text or email. You may have to contact Toyota to get them to reset it.

What is the monthly fee for using this app or it is free?

It is free for the trial period. On mine it is a 3 year trial period. After that it would be $8 per month or $80 a year. Most auto makers are doing this now.

It may not have that function from the factory. These videos were BEFORE COVID so many things changed or stopped being installed all together during the times when parts were hard to come by.
