I just wanted to thank you for your tutorial video. It was a HUGE help. I followed it step by step (after deleting my previous install) and it worked 100% Thanks again!
I wanted to say "Thank you very much" for putting this video tutorial together. This was exactly what I needed to quickly, easily and painlessly add a subsite to our existing site in order to setup as a development area to practice with new changes before rolling them into production. While I've learned WordPress, I hadn't known how to setup WordPress and MySQL on a VPS platform. This video showed me exactly what to do. I also like how I had been using the same ancillary tools (WinRAR, FileZilla, etc.) so it was even easier. Thanks again!
Great tutorial, thank you! I'd tried installing wordpress through the servers built in app installer, but it kept giving me problems. Went the 'long way round' using your guide and it works perfectly now. Thanks
THANK YOU! THANK YOU!!!!! I've tried figuring out how to upload this for what feels like 100 times and failed..... Thank you for helping me finally figure this out! :D
Thanks for this tutorial. it's simple enough for those without an IT background like me to follow. I am gonna try it and let you know how it goes. Thank you again
thanks, great video. just downloaded filezilla after watching this, i have been uploading files through cpanel's upload function previously (not the web pages that would be silly, thats all done though my web software) the difference in speed is amazing wordpress was done and installed within 10 minutes
This video was very helpful for me! I am in no way experienced with website building and hosting, but this really helped me get my site up and running! I wish you were clearer about the login credentials of FileZilla. I had to look up how to login. Overall, thank you for this video! You’ve earned my subscription!
Thank you so much for this video i was stuck at the upload part, as i didnt download filezilla i used webdisk related to ftp coudlnt connect this is perfect thank yoh !!
Thanks for the video. I have been looking for a video on how to link up FTP and Mysql. I used the quick install function but was not sure how to set up the FTP and Mysql. Think i will just uninstall and use your tutorial, seems like the best way forward.
Bingo. Thankyou Cameron. I used my Cpanel password. I cant for the life of me figure out why my other password would not work. Anyway i really appreciated your help with this matter. Thanks again.
I wanted to thank you a lot. I had some issues with filezilla and my server, mainly to many connections open, timouts, and connection erros but I finally was able to solve it. Also, the database creation was different since My server has CpPanel and you have to create there in order for the DataBase to appear at MyPhpadmin. Anyhow, it was really useful and I managed, after about 2 hours lol, to install it succesfully
I set on File--->Site Manager----> Encryption: Only Use plain FTP (insecure). Also I limited my connections to 1, on transfer Settings, due to getting many connections, and aswell I set on Edit---->Settings----> Connections ----> Time out in Seconds 5000
I fixed it Cameron. the 4 letters had fallen of from my user name. I dont know how the hell that happened but its fixed no. Thanks so much for taking the time to reply, really appreciated.
Thanks for the tutorial!! In my case I wiped out all my cPanel info as I have been doing this on my own and I had made many mistakes... long story short I’m glad I found your guide! I had a bit of trouble with FileZilla but finally made it! Now I’m looking for information on how to create Su domains?? So to add a /blog and /shop ?? Do you have a similar tutorial for that purpose? Thanks a lot!!!!!
Alternatively, using CPanel , you can navigate to file manager and goto public_html and directly drag n drop the wordpress zipped file and extract there. A good alter to using File Zilla.
Your cPanel account may have a one click button which performs the install for you. Generally, that should setup everything you need in order to hit the ground running. As far as local machine goes, you should not need to install cpanel on your local machine (using WAMP, LAMP, MAMP) unless you plan on performing development work locally. If you have any further questions, feel free to ask. Always happy to help.
You are awesome, just thank you so much. you saved me. Thanks a lot again from Blush and Blunt. Your haircuts are on us if you visit India. Complimentary
+Carl Viloria Once your cpanel is setup, and you point your nameservers to the cpanel account, adding in subdomains is simple, and should work as soon as they are added. Just make sure that when you add the subdomain, you add it to another directory
Ah, gotcha. Yeah, I've seen different companies use different tactics in regard to the one click installs, and seem them do it in some bogus ways, or install content that users do not desire. Even though the tutorial was a bit longer than expected, I hope that it gave a very thorough explanation of the complete process. If you have any questions, or run into issues, feel free to ask them here, and I'd be happy to help
