I briefly go over how to setup your dodge Challenger or charger for the drag strip if it’s one of your first times out. Hopefully this quick video can help some of you out. I agree with absolutely everything you said except one thing. Fuel level. These cars have split sided gas tanks and they have an aux pump that pushes fuel to the main pump from passenger side to driver side. And in some cases anything less than 1/2 might starve fuel from one side to the other causing a fuel pressure drop. You REALLY need to be at 2/3 or 3/4 of a tank to be safe and keep those pumps submerged during high G launches and runs. The fuel savings isnt worth running lean and doing engine damage. Ideally run full if you can, and just account for your runs with a full tank. But minimum 2/3rds of a tank.

Also you didnt talk at all about what modes to run in. I'd run in custom. Put trans in sport and suspension in street. Then hold the TC button down for 10 seconds to disable the TC system completely. The rest in any mode you want. But trans in sport and suspension in street. That will keep the suspension soft and allow for more front to back weight transfer to help with traction.

With aftermarket fuel pumps you would be correct. You don’t wanna run less than 1/2 tank with aftermarket fuel pumps… The factory fuel pump uses a fuel basket that holds onto fuel and keeps the car from running lean during a hard launch or cornering.

Couple other notes I want to point out. On the helmet, it HAS to be current. I had a helmet that was just out of date, and he let me run, but said he was going to remember and have it checked in the future. I believe it's less than 10 years old for helmet, but most drag strips will have it printed.

I’ve never had my helmet checked out before, as long as you have one they don’t seem to care too much, but this is at smaller local events. I’m sure the larger events are a lot more strict, so good to know!

@@delo2slow319like I said In the video…. 1/4 to 1/3 tank. If you run aftermarket fuel pumps they don’t have a basket like the stock pumps do to keep them from starving. That’s why it’s never recommended to run less than 1/4 tank fuel with aftermarket pumps. The fuel will slosh around while cornering or under hard acceleration and can starve the pumps of fuel.

Thank you! I run the stage 6 Motorsports 2 step. I typically launch somewhere in the 2700-3000rpm range. The hellcat m6 trans gearing is a lot different though and the few people I know racing those launch in the 4500-5000rpm range.

Are the A8’s any different in terms of launching rpm? And does that 2 step work the same on all the cars regardless? Thanks man.

@@joshreynolds729 yes very. Autos typically launch at 1800-2k-ish on the foot brake. You could set up the 2 step off the brake pedal and it would act just the same. I had mine off the clutch pedal

I was at the track. They said if I removed the driver seat I would need a full inspection only went 1 time not sure what that entails. Any info stock Scatpack Challenger

“Full inspection” of what? Doesn’t really make sense…. People running with seats removed is extremely common

@@B5beast422 ok nice they said something like the safety features of the seat like side air bags. If removed I would need a full inspection a guess for a different class? It was a street legal car night only. But there were some very fast cars did not seem street legal.

18 plus has line lock built in from the factory…. You already have it!

@@B5beast422 no I have a 22 rt cheap stick model I like it but it doesn’t have a lot of stuf trying to make it work to go faster removing weight cat back exhaust hellcat air intake amd soon hellcat manifolds I’ll wait a year since srill in factory warranty I also changed all the speakers and sounds way way better gotta make it work

You don’t have 6 piston on the rear… no one does. You can run 17s on the rear if you want… 18 is fine for the rear too just not as much tire sidewall

How long does what last? Not sure what you’re referring to…. Tires? That really depends. I mainly race this car but the et street ss hold up pretty well on the street. Slicks won’t last long if you try to drive on them often, I just swap those on for the track.

@@B5beast422 thanks for the response but yeah I was referring to the tires. I just got a drag pack set up and was considering keeping it on all summer long. I go to the track on weekends but also have another vehicle to daily. So I wouldn't be diving the drag pack on rainy days or long trips.

Do six piston break fit in 19 widebody challengers?

Not sure what you’re trying to ask here? Widebodys do have 6 piston brakes up front from the factory. Up till 2020 you can run an 18” wheel up front, 2020+ the calipers changed and will only clear a 20” wheel
