I bought a large white trunk to store my infant niece’s stuff in ru-vid.comUgkxNuLbiXpLQ-mKH5NlyjrNe88hiCk2N3Cg, as she comes to my house frequently. For now, it’s toys on one side and diapers, wipes, and other baby care items on the other. As she gets older, it will be all toys. I had originally wanted a trunk with a hinged lid, but I was afraid of her smashing or pinching her fingers in it. This will be a much safer option. The lid has great padding in it and it is actually nice to sit on. It feels very sturdy and secure. Looks like it can be wiped clean easily. If it gets abused by her, I won’t be terribly upset because I paid less than $50 for it on Prime Day.

I cannot explain how thankful I am for your video. I never in a million years would have thought I could cover RV cushions like a legit sewing ninja would but I just did! I didn’t even cry out of frustration, not one tear! I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart ❤️! Thank you so much!!!

I am a beginner sewer and have made several cushions for my living room and kitchen. Your video was BY FAR the most direct and simple to follow, and I really appreciate it! I really like the way you explained the corners, it's pretty much foolproof. I have just made one cushion for our outdoor furniture; four more to go! It turned out almost perfect! (I say almost because of my skills, not your tutorial). Thank you!

So, we are deffinately novice sewers, and we made this and it turned out way better than we expected!!! My niece is having a birthday at my parent's cabin, and they have an amazing back porch with a breathtaking view. But the old bench cushion was a little sad. We didn't have a ton of $ or time to find the perfect bench cushion... cut to... this video. The instructions were so thorough and clear that we never felt lost. I am deffinately subscribing! Thanks so much!!!

I wrote another comment below but I forgot to add that for some reason I was mesmerized by the pins you used in this video! So I used your link and bought them! It took about a month to arrive and actually today was the first time I had a chance to sew/use them. AND I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THEM! There's something about the flat flower head that is nice to work with, plus the best part is if one happens to fall on the floor, it is easy to see it! Can't tell you how many times I've searched the carpet to find a nearly invisible pin!! Thank you for introducing them to your viewers - I am 100% pleased with them and in fact have put all my other pins out of my pincushion and into a drawer. My flower pins now have pride of place lol

Finally made this cushion for the bench my husband made a few weeks ago. The hardest part was those pesky corners! But I watched the video showing that part several times and it finally sunk in. Next one will probably have a zipper instead of Velcro. By the time I got the foam cushion inside the cover the Velcro was all covered with the batting. But, this was a fantastic video and project. I’m very happy with how it finished. Thank you Melanie!

Hi Melanie, Once I decided to make a cushion for my banquette bench, I reviewed many online videos. Your video was so easy to understand and I loved the finished look with the corners - very nice. I also liked that you used a Velcro opening. I was concerned a zipper might scratch my bench. Because my cushion was large (87"x19"x4-1/2") I kept the finished fabric cover inside out, put the non-Velcro end against the foam/batting end and slowly unrolled the fabric cover toward the opposite end. All in all your instructions helped me create a polished, comfortable cushion that my family is going to enjoy for the upcoming holidays. Thank you!

You're a life saver. I've had a project to replace a cushion on a old chair brewing for a couple of years. I have a small sewing machine that doesn't have a zipper foot so finding a pattern with velcro or even buttons was a challenge. Thank you so much!! I'm starting my project today!

Been a long time since I last sewed anything, and found this after I made a mess of my first attempt. REALLY helpful, and I love the finger-wagging at the "don't backstitch" part. I might have to put that finger-wagging on a loop for when I start to do stupid stuff in the rest of my life! Thanks Melanie!

I just made two cushions, mostly following Melanie’s video. They turned out great. Melanie explained everything so clearly. I had never made cushions before so it was a big help. I was using piping, and I also added Dacron batting to the foam rubber. There’s a great product called basting adhesive that sticks the batting to the foam. I also used 4” foam but made the sides 3 1/2” for a snugger fit. Melanie’s finished product had too much loose fabric for my taste. In order to get the batting-covered foam through the slit in the cushion cover, a product called silk film is fantastic. I learned about this from watching a video on reupholstering a cushion. Another thing I did was to include ties in the back to keep the cushions from sliding around. I just used bias tape in the same color, stitching it closed, folding it in half and stitching it into the bottom seam at the back. Hope these comments are helpful.
