Very useful and timely video - thank you. I found the fingertip button hold tricky, so I used a bamboo skewer as a spacer. My trouser seam repair was less successful, serviceable but a bit wonky. I will keep practising.
Realised we didn't reply. To reinforce a button, you can sew into a small button on the underside of the fabric, so you sew the button as illustrated on top and stitch through a small one on the underside. Same method. Hope this helps.
Tying off, - yes, its stupid, but sometimes im unsure if I made a knot. And the thread behind, probably leave a bit, right? Think many beginners would appreciate it.
Apologies if this is not clear enough. We NEVER knot, at the beginning or end, just stitch twice over the same stitch and trim, can be three times if the fabric is slippery. And, as you said, don't trim too close, or hide the surplus thread in the fabric before you trim. Hope this is helpful.
@@aitsan2173 I struggled to write my comment, for some reason. What I meant was: Maybe a video about tying off, how to finish your stitch. (Or what NOT to do. Common mistakes?)
