I see another view- add a hem band long enough to tie in front on the bodice... add a waist band to the skirt, without having to make any alterations- love it!

Your scotch tape on the buttons is brilliant! Here’s a tip, sew the long side of the collar, trim and understitch then when you sew the short sides they lay really flat. Also after you sew the collar onto the dress trim the edge and under stitch before sewing up the center edge of facing to dress. Hope that makes sense

SOOO happy to see you back! As I’ve watched many of your earlier shows my thoughts have been with you and hoped the best for you 🫶❤️ earlier in my life I had made all of my own clothing, and now after about a hundred years am taking baby steps back into sewing some simple linen pants. Still pretty slow but taking more pains with nice interior finishes-as I do not have a serger!

The amount of swearing I do while constructing garments is all related to sticking myself with pins 😂 No matter how careful i am there is always one (or several) that are out to get me. You’re back! Great dress! Looks like the sleeve openings do not show a bra which is often my main challenge with anything sleeveless. 🤨 I like the fitted back waist seam in this dress. Don’t know how it will look on me, but some dresses have a boxy or potato sack shape and this one seems to have addressed that potential problem nicely. Thanks for sharing the process.

Just came on to say I've recently made two 'Birdie's (both in double gauze). Really loved the process of making them, and intend to make more, but still fiddling around with the fit. Vivi is looking very very tempting indeed....❤ But I want to make another Birdie first...sigh!!

I bought the pattern a week or two ago, can’t wait to see what you do with it! I have a couple of lengths of stretch twill (I think) might work! I’m glad you’re back to work. It made me feel the best during treatment, knowing life was going on. 😊 I love the interfacing method. Things come out so much neater! I’ve mentioned it to some other sewing RU-vidrs since it’s so clean looking. Don’t bother with a Rowenta iron unless you get the German manufactured one. The one from a land far far away (can’t say or I’ll get threatened by YT) leaks terribly. Worst $60 I ever spent.
