If the zipper is long enough you actually don't have to separate it. My preference is not to take it apart.

I wanted to download this pattern you say it's a free pdf but to download it I have to give you a credit card number I don't trust you enough to give you a credit card number so I think this is a rip off or scam. I did donate 2 pounds UK.
