How to Sew An Invisible Zipper With A Lining 

This is the most understandable video of invisible zippers I have seen. I like your nails, they don't distract to me.

I have been sewing ever since I was 10 and have always hated zippers! Thanks to good RU-vid videos like this one, they're not so bad!

Before sewing, seal polyester zipper end tabs (no cotton) by cutting them off w/hot scissors or soldering iron to prevent raveling as well as eliminating the hassle of folding it to sew into the garment creating more bulk. To prevent melting plastic zipper stops &/or teeth, use a thin spacer like a metal ruler or knife blade between teeth & line of cutting ...

I use an ordinary zipper foot. It works perfectly.

Why is there not a "love" button for RU-vid? This video solves ALL the zipper problems I'm having right now! I'm basically self-taught and default to using the machine for all of my stitches. It's so easy to forget that hand stitching is often the much better choice!

I am glad you covered how to do a lining except my dress is a true vintage from 1950s it had a beautiful satin waist and ribbon in front so I am taking it in the back where the zipper is and cutting it up the back. IT has a fold over one side of the zipper that is tailored so well. so... I think this is the best idea. Wish me luck.

Excellent Video Tutorial! Thanks! Have you ever done a sleeveless dress with lining by sewing shoulders of both lining and dress, then armholes, then somehow pulling lining through shoulders? I used to do that years ago and have forgotten how. It was so easy, the only two extra things to do were to sew in the zipper and hem. Thanks!

I like your sewing machine, in that it has a nice speed that is not so fast. What model is it? I enjoy your videos-the are very clear. You are a great teacher and you are able to anticipate where a person may have difficulty and therefore making it very clear to avoid confusion..

You need to see how Mimi G does it! It is a much easier process and you can use a regular zipper foot!

Instead of measuring for the second side of the zipper, you could zip it back up and pin the second side down. This way it's exactly lined up.

I was wondering, if you use the reference lining for your zipper (the red/orange one) don't you skip a part of your seam allowance? or... besides that, perfect tutorial! gonna try it now haha ^^

I love the part where you have marked the areas with tacking stitch. I have also tried the stay tape method, found it clogged up my needles.
