I guess at some point in my watching this video 799 times to sew this as a beginner I had accidentally hit the dislike button and just realized during my 800th view and correct it to a like lol. I definitely couldn’t follow this pattern without the video, and appreciate the guide!

I need this in adult sizes now too🤣 I had my eye on an outfit similar to this but it looked like a scam site so I want to try making my own! I definitely want to practice making one for my baby first though

@@RooneySewingPatterns also, as a beginner I am so glad the algorithm showed me your page. I can't follow patterns yet and I am more of a "watch someone and recreate it" type of learner. In cosmetology school the head sheets (think of patterns, but for hair) were the death of me and I would never understand it till I just watched someone and did it myself. So thank you for helping people like me who want to cry when they see the flat pattern and think "what does this even mean" 😆

I’ve never sewn anything before and have heard that cotton flannel is the easiest to sew with for beginners. Could you use 100% Cotton flannel fabric? Also what kind of stitch would you use when making this piece? Would you use a straight stitch for the whole thing?

I recommend using quilting cotton to make these overalls. For me, it is easier to sew than flannel. Flannel would still work well, though. Whatever fabric you use, remember to prewash it so the overalls won't shrink in the wash. You can sew these overalls with a straight stitch, but I recommend that you *then* finish your raw edges with a zig-zag stitch. I'm not sure how to explain it, but Evelyn Wood has a good tutorial here on RU-vid. The video is called "How to finish seams without an overlocker - zigzag stitch tutorial and pinking shears". But no matter what you decide to do, please remember to be gentle with yourself, especially as a beginner. I hope you have fun in the world of sewing.

Where do you print the pattern from? I've never seen before so idk how to find paper that big. Sorry if that's a dumb question

Hi Ally, Not a dumb question at all - the pattern I'm using in the photo is my own personal pattern drawn on a large white roll so that's why it is on large paper. When you print the pattern at home, it prints on regular printer paper and is taped together. We also sell our patterns pre-printed on large paper and can ship them to you :)
