Please move your arm - I am trying to watch the turtle in the aquarium (it's going crazy). Nice tips (pun intended).

What is the tool brand name ?

The bowtie tip tool is by cue tec, although they make other versions from other brands that are literally identical and just as good. The Flatter tip tool (my favorite) is by Williards. It is dime radius (the radius I think most pool players should try to use)

a guy told me to use the porcupine more than the scuffer.

Hi Eric, Yes, I agree with you. This is what I have seen from personal preference is that the porupine (the spiky things) is most effective at loosening the tip (unhardens the tip) as well as allows chalk to hold easier (less miscues) when compared to the scuffer. Thank you for your comment!

Question about The Williard's tool. Are there two types of tools? Because the one you've mentioned in this video is made for the dime right? I purchased the product that has the blue packaging. Does that mean the one with the brown packaging is for the dime, and the blue is for nickel?

Hmm I'm not sure what packaging you are referring to. Yuo can check by taking a dime or nickel and seeing if it fits in the tool!

Do you replace your tips yourself or do you get another person to do it

Hi Peter, For the local pool hall at my med school, I replace the cue tips myself using Tiger glue. For my actual playing cues and break cue, however, I send them into Seybert's billiards to have the tips professionally replaced. For example, my cues are very expensive and can only have the tip replaced by a certified Predator tip replacement agency. The reason why the upper end cues need to be professionally replaced is because the upper end shafts usually have a small plate called a silencer that is underneath the tip. This plate is extremely important for the shaft and is a big reason why the shaft is so expensive. So it is crucial that the silencer is not cut into, and not all people who replace cue tips are skilled enough to avoid the silencer but still get the rest of the old tip cut off. After using a few different companies to replace my cue tips on the east coast, I realized that Seyberts does the best job, so I would highly recommend them if you have a top of the line shaft such as OB or predator. If you have a lower end shaft without a silencer, you should have no problem getting the tip replaced at any local dealer or possibly by doing it yourself! Although this process can be frusterating on your nice playing cue, so I personally would find a dealer to help!

Ok thank you, I live in Turkey and there is no one that is expert enough to do it, so I rather do it myself and if I do it wrong I only have myself to blame. I have a players cue with a Pure X low deflection shaft which I love using and it has improved my game no end. It’s given me so much more confidence and everyone says how much I have improved and my friends say I am the one to beat.
