Adding my comment because your videos are super helpful. I’ve been looking for a good bodywork channel to follow for a while. Hope it continues to take off for you!
Great video! I have had a small crack on my 99 ek front bumper from the previous owner, and cant find an OEM replacement in good shape. Might just try this instead. Keep up the good work bodevision!
FANTASTIC. I've been doing this for a little while now. I use a soldering iron. Back in the day we'd just fill them holes with Bondo or plastic epoxy. But welding is sooooooo much better. Glad you made this. Can help a lot of people. Works great for fixing broken tabs and cracks too.
Without a doubt man and its funny i just bought a soldering gun today for my wiring on the ranchero project and it actually came with plastic welding tips.
I was just looking at my em1 front bumper last night and couldn’t stop lookin at the nasty lookin license plate holes, awesome content bro! Keep up the good work my dude! 👍🏼
Great video as usual Bode. It’s funny I use to be a skateboarder when I was young as well. Ironic how we progress from skateboards to building nice cars as we get older 🙂
Did you know it’s look exactly like the plastic we use to repair the base of snow skis? The same welding technique of course without the screen... great video thank you!
Note - will not work on urethane (thermoset) bumpers since you cannot melt the urethane and fuse melted plastic to it. Need a special thermoplastic filler rod that can be melted with a standard iron - it doesn't fuse with the urethane but instead adheres to it like a glue. Polyvance sells it.
haha yeah man i think its when there are certain smalls that are just ONE thing we are instantly drawn to that thing. Like how all old VW's small like crayons.
