The secret of successful shaving with an open razor is to stretch the skin flat with your spare hand and keep the blade almost flat to the skin and apply only very light pressure. Let the blade do it's work.
The razor i am using is a vintage Edaco complete with the original case, made during an era (around 1940) when excellence was standard, this razor stands out from the rest of the crowd with it's beautiful vintage Patina and not forgetting the very attractive and creative custom acrylic handles/scales. Perfectly balanced in the hand.
